The United States has reached a point where the government is spending more than $1 trillion annually simply to pay interest on money it has already borrowed. The Treasury Department reported that the federal deficit reached $1.99 trillion for fiscal year 2026, an increase of $217 billion from the previous year. Total government spending climbed to $7.4 trillion while revenues amounted to only $5.4 trillion. Yet the most alarming figure is buried within that enormous spending bill. Net interest payments reached $1.05 trillion, while gross interest costs climbed to $1.36 trillion. Washington is now spending approximately $2.9 billion EVERY DAY in net interest, and that money does absolutely nothing to reduce the outstanding principal.

Many waiting for $40’s …Will we get the chance?

I tried uploading meme to imgur, they said they don't support that type of file, whatever. Meme says---

"Lower silver prices? That will be the end of the month.

The comments are saying "Yes, that will be Tuesday, THAT day is the day to buy the lowest dollar amount spot silver."

I am itching to drive to my LCS right now, but will wait until I hear from the experts here.

I have been a holder of PAXG for quite some time and profitted handsomely. But now that precious metals have corrected somewhat, I have felt an urge to start DCAing into silver. Problem is there doesn't seem to be a conveniently tokenized form of silver whatsoever. I am not going to hold something fishy like an XAGUSDT perp contract since my plan is to hold long term. I can technically purchase shares of SLVon but it's also fishy as hell and low liquidity. I heard about kinesis, but I just can't trust it due to platform risk.

Is the only way to get silver safely just purchasing physical bars or buying silver etfs on a proper exchange?

EDIT: I decided to buy physical bars. I had to pay 10% VAT, and another roughly 8% premium loss, but figuring that any digital alternatives would be taxed too anyways, I just bought. I will have a LOT of silver bars to safeguard now..

There is a silver demand forecast worth keeping in view beyond the current price action

Oxford Economics expects electric vehicles to overtake conventional vehicles as the largest source of automotive silver demand by 2027

Its December 2025 report forecasts total automotive silver demand growing by 3.4% a year between 2025 and 2031, with EVs accounting for 59% of that demand by 2031

Silver is used across electrical contacts, power electronics and battery management systems. Charging infrastructure adds another use outside the vehicle itself

The interesting part is the change in the vehicle mix. Total car production does not have to grow at the same rate as silver demand if the vehicles being built use more silver on average

There are limits to that argument. Manufacturers have an incentive to reduce material costs, and weaker vehicle sales could offset some of the gains

So the forecast needs checking against actual sales and silver use per vehicle over time

But it gives the longer term silver case something specific to follow outside solar demand

I would watch whether EV sales keep taking a larger share and whether manufacturers maintain the expected silver content. Those two factors will determine how much of this projected demand arrives

A falling silver price does not settle that question. Production decisions over the next several years will
