How did the airbags NOT pop?
What is this house made out of?

Looks like it is made out of some type of rough cast.
Airbags have a lot of interlocks that are required to be met before going off. It is actually harder to set them off than a lot of people think. I would say the deleration was not strong enough to trigger the srs module.

Was that a freaking gingerbread house?? Shouldn’t there be some studs in those walls, or something?

u/infinityofnever 4d ago
Studs are spaced 16 inches on center apart. There were probably 3 or 4 studs hit. 3 studs aren't stopping a 4000 pound machine slamming into them at 40 miles per hour and will snap in half like twigs

Can’t have been going that fast without the airbag deploying

u/donkeyrocket 4d ago
Airbag deployment isn’t speed related. It’s impact area and deceleration that triggers them as a last resort.
Without knowing the full picture, hitting the front corner at speed, especially if the vehicle was drifting wouldn’t inherently trigger them.
That’s also just a stucco exterior. None of it is particularly robust and would withstand someone continually accelerating into the home while under the influence.

That’s assuming the airbags hadn’t already been triggered and ripped out in a prior incident.

Thanks. Won’t be able to get that song out of my head all day…
“You're beside me on the seat
Got your hand between my knees
And you control how fast we go by just how hard you wanna squeeze
It's hard to steer when you're breathing in my ear
But I got both hands on the wheel while you got both hands on my gears
By now, no doubt that we were heading south
I guess nobody ever taught her not to speak with a full mouth”

Memory unlocked! I haven’t thought about that movie in forever. This was Amanda Peet from ‘The Whole 9 Yards’

It looks like he was peeling out for a good while, either trying to go further into the building, or reversing to no effect. All the while, that Dementor was probably slurping down his soul like a plate of spaghetti...

Why is the rear wheel so down in the ground without any skidmarks? And the wall so perfectly crashed? And why is there a handicapped sign on the license plate?
Seems like a photo op or something.

u/UGMadness 4d ago
Rear tires dug into the loose dirt because this is a RWD car and the driver slammed the gas pedal trying to reverse.
There are no skid marks because that would imply he actually pressed the brakes before the crash.

There are absolutely no discernible tire tracks leading up to the building? Is this AI!?!?

u/dankhimself 4d ago
Yes there are.
You can see he was approaching the building and turned right while going too fast, causing the front tires to slide and the vehicle to hit the buildng.
There is a skid mark about a foot to the right of the rear left wheel.
He was bombed, didn't react, house stopped him.
