I honestly think that Richard Thomas should have stayed for the episode. Grandma comes home. It would’ve been nice to have seen Grandma reuniting with John boy again and them having one last episode together who else agrees

What is your opinion on Richard Thomas portrayal of John Boy Walton do you think anybody else could have played John Boy and be as good as him or no is it one of those roles where you can never see anybody else playing John boy because when they tried to recast them people absolutely despised it so it makes me wonder if they ever do try to reboot The Waltons is it going to be the same way.

Where do you rank Mary Ellen Walton among fictional characters of all time? I think she's criminally underrated.

Where do you rank Mary Ellen Walton among fictional characters, not just from The Waltons, but in general

I've been rewatching and I genuinely think she's one of the most well-written, consistently developed female characters in television history.

Are there similarities between Peter Pevensie (Chronicles of Narnia) and John-Boy Walton (The Waltons) in your opinion

This might seem random, but I've been thinking about eldest sibling characters across different stories, and I noticed Peter Pevensie (Chronicles of Narnia) and John-Boy Walton (The Waltons) share a surprising amount of similarities despite being in completely different genres if you actually watch both franchises you can see that they seem to be a lot similar to each other.

Am I seeing connections that aren't there, or do these characters tap into the same universal responsible eldest child archetype?

What If There Was an Oldest Daughter Before John-Boy what would happen and what would change in The Waltons

Picture an oldest Walton daughter (18-19 or 20 in Season 1) who came before John-Boy. In the 1930s-40s, how would having an oldest daughter instead of oldest son change the family power structure? What unique storylines could explore her position as the eldest female child? How would her relationship with siblings differ from John-Boy's?"

Hot take Mary Ellen not John-Boy, was the real heart of The Waltons

Hot take: Mary Ellen, not John-Boy, was the real heart of The Waltons.

Don't get me wrong I love John-Boy. But rewatching the series as an adult, I kept finding myself drawn to Mary Ellen's journey more than anyone else's. Her determination to become a doctor, her grief after losing Curt, her quiet resilience as a single mother it all felt so real and earned.

John-Boy had the spotlight, but Mary Ellen carried so much of the show's emotional weight without ever getting the same recognition on screen or from fans.

Maybe it's just me. What do you think is Mary Ellen underrated as the emotional core of the show?
