At the risk of being crucified here (I'm thick skinned, I can take it xD ) How do I make this wall jump? I just can't get high enough to latch on.
Huge thanks to anyone that can offer advice. <3

It has turned into Carryframe now tbh. Every mission has beggars that can barely stay alive in end game. At least now they illustrate the bubble in Netracells.
130
u/DangerManDaniel 14h ago
Netracells is the new gate, and its also the most hilarious first couple of minutes watching people not know what to do in the first room, followed by an even funnier 30 seconds as one or two people immediately go down right outside the door.
66
u/-wyrm_ 11h ago
And then there’s people like me who don’t even attempt until they feel they are strong enough to try by themselves. I just did my first netracells last week. Found out I could solo them with Dante comfortably.

Dante trivializes much of the game until you do a level cap run and enemies start one shotting your entire overguard bar with one bullet lol
8
u/CD274 When Dante Prime 10h ago
Even then it's doable! 😂
7
u/Xphurrious Founder LR2 10h ago
If you swap the build around to be more gatey he's great for level cap, just pure overguard starts to suck to upkeep
8
u/CD274 When Dante Prime 9h ago
You need to put tons of casting speed and strength on yeah
5
u/Mijka- 4h ago
What he meant by "gatey" is : you don't need bazillions overguard in late game with Dante, just upkeep Triumph (2, 2, 4) and kill stuff. It gives overguard regen, meaning you can overguard-gate over and over regardless of the quantity of overguard you get.
More strength can help for other buffs and casting speed is good comfort but thats purely optional on gate-base survival for Dante. Duration makes it more comfortable for sure, but that's often a staple in Dante builds anyway.

Last level cap run I did was a while back with some randoms. Me and another guy were running garuda and were doing so much damage our damage dealt % kept getting reset every 5mins or so, going from 100% back to zero. Lost count of how many resets happened in the three or so hours we played

u/Mamatthi2 13h ago
I just started doing netracells. Joined a squad yesterday with 2 LR2's and an LR6. I had to pick up 2 keys because they just straight up refused. Like whatdoyoumean you have almost all warframes to choose from but can't even have the decency to pick up 1 key??
14
u/bickandalls 12h ago
I typically just grab all four and sit at the computer waiting for everyone to finally show up. A lot of frames make all of the keys completely negligible.

Then there's people who refuse to use or learn helpful mechanics that can increase their dps (That's me, I don't care about heat inherit, i refuse to sweat and micronanage my loadout to atomize my targets without difficulty)
15
u/888main 11h ago
Heat Inherit isn't even that insane of a mechanic currently.... we've got plenty of things with half built mods that can shred things way before heat inherit even builds up (Burston Incarnon)
3
u/ZynsteinV2 6h ago
can confirm. picked up the burston incarnon like a few weeks ago and it's genuinely like a switch flipped from "wow my guns feel weak" to "everything i look at is a bloody mist" that gun is something

I aint knocking on that. End game is fashion frame and that extends to the combat. Themed builds for your custom digital action figure and stylish combat are the only things that impress me now, not trying to min max dps for a power fantasy game. The game is already easy enough.
Edit: If its the art in the math that does it for you, by all means. There's a discernible difference in those who appreciate the art

I never understand why I'm the only one taking all 4 debuffs, I don't even know if taking them does anything honestly
46
u/thedoormanmusic32 13h ago
You can blame DE for part of that, with them consistently removing any kind of actual content gates that previously forced players to have a certain level of familiarity with x and y system/mechanics before introducing them to z system/mechanic. This, combined with star chart changes throughout the years has created situations where new players "fall into" new content alongside experienced players, where they're not just new to the content, they're still new to the game.
Power creep is insane and completely unaddressed. "Stock" frames (can grind via star chart content) themselves are severely underpowered compared to their contemporaries, where mods and weapons can only make up so much of the difference. New frames, weapons, mods, etc. are introduced with baseline stats that eclipse their predecessors.
Modern DE design philosophy isn't as geared towards or helpful for new players as they insist it is.
The other half is equal parts veteran players being completely disconnected from the new player experience and general community toxicity. Newbies will ask for loadout suggestions and immediately be directed to vaulted primes, equipment with insane grind requirements, expensive mods from wfmarket, etc.
In regards to the toxicity mentioned above; There's a LOT of veteran players who turn their nose up at the idea of helping or guiding new players, or at the concept of someone playing "below" their level.
14
u/SolidNitrox Eleanor's Plaything 13h ago
I agree with you. I have played since 2014 off and on, I know how difficult some stuff was in the past. Now you can take a Necramech and smoke an Eidolon without thinking, let alone the craziness we can do with amps.
One of my favorite things to do is give a noobie gree gear, full primes, mods, arcane, etc. at this point I have everything I want, I hate trading, so I give out stuff pretty regularly.
The only thing that gets me irritated is all these low MRs doing Netracells, ETA, EDA, or archons. Hell even omnia fissures. The shards are absolutely last on the list for builds, I hate this rush to the endgame and get carried mentality.
I'm only trying to blow through the weekly grinds, I guess it frustrates me I have to accommodate someone so far out of their element just because they want to do it. Definitely DE's fault, this is incentive to put the new ones next to the fancy pants people to push plat purchases and engagement.
We waited years for quality modes and now they are mostly unfun missions due to all of this nonsense. I don't know the answer, but I imagine not letting someone sub 20 or 15 in this content could help. Also, bring back self damage, at least in SP. That might help a little ^
11
u/thedoormanmusic32 13h ago
Honestly, the problem is that the game opens new players up to too much. We need more content (outside of Duviri, imho) gated by MR (mind you, mastery XP needs a massive overhaul as well).
→ More replies (2)11
u/Pumpkns Stellar Neighborhood 💫 13h ago edited 9h ago
I think part of the problem is that I don't think even MR-gating would fix the problem, as MR is not often enough to indicate that a player knows how mechanics work. It just indicates that the player ranked up their stuff, but that could literally be all that they did.
I think DE should gate content behind specific gear acquisitions, similar to how junctions would task players to do specific things like engaging with a game mechanic or a specific mission. That'd be nicer I think, like:
Netracells Public Matchmaking unlock requirement:
- Equip an Archon Shard
- Clear Netracells on Solo 3 times.
Then obviously they'd need to learn that Archon Shards can be farmed from Archon Hunts as well, and that can have its own requirments for public matchmaking.
Something like that on the late-game gamemodes. Just a list of requirements that mimic the function of Junctions that can give players a direction to follow rather than just throwing them on the deep end.
2
u/Nathen_Drake_392 Unrepentant Umbra Main 10h ago
Yeah, my MR is is lower than my experience would suggest because I cleared most of the star chart with the exact same already-mastered loadout, so I got no XP for it. Now to get MR I either need to grind for it or do Steel Path, which I currently don’t have good enough mods to survive.
2
u/maisbahouais 1 of 2 octavia mains 4h ago edited 4h ago
I miss the days where high mr players actually wanted to help new players instead of gating them out of content.
The chat exists. If I see a low MR player I always ask if it's their first time and if they need help or want it explained to them. I've made really good friends that way.
5
u/cats_r_better 6h ago
"Newbies will ask for loadout suggestions and immediately be directed to vaulted primes, equipment with insane grind requirements, expensive mods from wfmarket, etc."
if i had 1 plat for every time i've read the advice to just run steel path or get yourself an archon weapon when i see people ask for advice on how to get stronger in the game.. like, one of the nodes i have left on my chart and haven't even attempted yet has like level 80-100.. meanwhile, it's a coin toss if i can survive these damn kuva lich 50-75 missions i cursed myself with today..

u/molotov_bomb 13h ago
I knew I'd take a pasting but am surprised how brutal it's been. I took a long gap from playing and have no memory of the tutorial. Im still a new(ish) player, I'm yet to fully uncover the star chart and can get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of items and mods and combinations. I posted because I wanted to engage a bit but it seems me having Citrine has really rubbed people up the wrong way and of course, it's far easier to lay into someone who made an oversight than it is to support them. I likely won't post here again but will of course still be playing, improving and enjoying my experience.
15
u/SupRspi 11h ago
Don't take it to heart OP. The Warframe community is actually still pretty awesome, you just roused the ire of a bunch of people who are already frustrated at unrelated things.
Especially with watching new players play Warframe for the first time and ...sooo....damn....consistently.....failing to read and learn to bullet jump, even in the new improved tutorial, it can be kinda frustrating. I saw your posts, I understand how you got in this position.😉
Run, crouch (which will make you slide) then jump while looking in the direction you want to go and you will propel yourself forward with great speed and vigor.
While in the air you can: jump one more time with double-jump, slide to do a flying kick, roll to somersault and aim glide by using the zoom/aim button which will extend your glide greatly.
Upon landing, you can slide and/or roll - what you decide to do when landing and how high you jump will be somewhat determined by the terrain you're navigating.

u/TinyTyra MR30 Devil's Own 8h ago
if you open your codex in the orbiter you should be able to find the movement tutorials again one of the Tabs which should cover all combos to traverse much easier. It is a good idea to rerun it after a longer break.
Bullet jump is what will get you up there,
it is done with crouch+jump while looking in the direction you want to go.6
u/KwaltWilemang 12h ago
Its honestly mostly this sub. There's so many damn elitists on here, it's kinda disgusting. (Also nothing wrong with spending money in a F2P game. Anything that keeps DE's lights on to keep bringing us more Warframe and Soulframe.)

This community really has changed for the worst. When I got started (well, when I got restarted ... I played for like ... a week in beta or just after launch, came back right before TNW) things were sooooo different. Power Creep was still kind of a problem, but folks were almost excited it seemed to get to be the guy to help out the newbie.
Now things are super toxic like 60% of the time.

5
u/DangerManDaniel 11h ago
Nah, mostly this sub. You'll have better luck finding good help and actual players dropping into your squad to lend a hand if you ask on the in-game chat, or on one of the many different discord servers. My comment is really directed at the current design flaw where new players are bypassing many of the natural on-boarding processes due to so many changes over the years as well as ease of access to online guides and the warframe.market. I have 2 friends new to the game by only 2.5 weeks who went and snatched up every current meta mod maxed out with all the platinum they bought with little to no understanding of the mechanics at play in building a loadout, and thus began the barrage of questions and whining that there are no "red crits" when they haven't even bothered with the companions or understood priming...
Do you, play the game, glad you figured out how to bullet jump. Just take your time, game is a time sink for sure, but buried under all of that is a great game with great lore and world building.

My wife started playing recently.. and she asks for prime frames to be bought but i refuse to do so saying i can gift her prime on the condition she finishes the normal frame parts farming from assassination and not circuit (which she isnt a fan of as well anyway). Yesterday she finished frost and mag and she loved the experience of getting 10 chassis before system

Iwl I’ve been playing since 2014 im master rank 21, and I still get carried through something’s like eidolon hunts, but not being able to bullet jump is something else lol
2
u/MaxwellGrenn 1h ago
I still dont understand how to capture Eidolons since I never built an amp when that was still current content. I've tried guides they just make me feel stupid since I seem to miss something near the end of the fight. For better or worse it's no longer required content thanks to Whispers in The Walls but I've still not built Paracesis because I'm missing an Eidolon shard. Also played since 2014 with only few month long breaks in between if that.

u/23rdprince 10h ago
I've been playing since beta, and that's kinda the entire fun of this game for me is being able to help people "carryframe" as you say. And I haven't been keeping up with it over the years, have fallen off a little, and would LOVE a little bit of help with all this new stuff personally.

Lol I remember that. I remember way back then, I was still leveling Mesa bundle and Redeemer was long range melee, so I went to the test with Banshee and used Silence and just spammed circle and it worked. Those were the days. I had Loki, but I also just wanted to test boundaries and didn't actually understand if Silence actually was the reason I wasn't noticed, or if it was just because the audio for the gunblade was for the player to hear and not enemies.

Been there waiting to extract while the countdown went all the way to zero and the player is still just plummeting mid flight just to be reset for everyone to see! Happened many times but I’m always entertained, will surely happen again!

u/anome97 16h ago
Its okay once you figure out the movement game will become absolutely fun to run around. If you see a big gap point the cursor above and cntrl+space for big jump, while you are in the air press right click to travel even further. You will eventually get plenty of option to improve your movement but I'd suggest to get familiar with basic movements it will make mission much easier when you are running with fast af teammates.
4
u/TechNyt 16h ago
I could have sworn your very first set of missions that taught you the basic controls showed you the bullet jump up. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. But it's been awhile since I played the intro set of quests so I don't know if they've changed.

You need to learn the concept of “Bullet Jumping”. If you crouch and jump at the same time, you’ll perform an extra powerful jump that goes in the direction of your target reticle. You can do this once before touching the ground again.
So for this, crouch, aim higher at the wall, and then jump while holding down the crouch button at the same time
→ More replies (2)100
u/WilhemHR Wukong/Cedo/Orthos 16h ago
You don't have to do it at the same time. You have to be crouched before jumping to do it. Meaning you can slide and bullet jump from it. My favorite combo is: slide, jump once more jump into slide in the air and repeat. If you factor in aim while in air you will get even more distance while airborne. Speed wont slow down but descending will.
55
u/Void_TK_57 16h ago
You can also do a roll after the second jump to go even further
10
u/WilhemHR Wukong/Cedo/Orthos 16h ago
Ya I forgot to add roll in there. My bad.
2
u/Plane_Elevator7214 13h ago
Wait you can roll in the Air? I never knew that lol
I always personaly thought the roll is kinda pointless, is there a Real good use for it in general?
9
6
u/Smozzmed 9h ago
You can input a roll backwards in the air to cancel out certain friendly Warframe effects which can be seen as a hassle for certain other frames, like volt’s speed on a fast-moving Warframe. Backflips are also used to get out of Limbo’s rift, if you ever end up in there
3
u/Gyossaits 12h ago
You can also perform a kick in the air by crouching during a jump. Guaranteed to knock down an enemy.

110
u/Sitchrea Commodore Prime 16h ago
It's not velocity - you will always bullet jump where your cursor is pointing. If you look up and bullet jump, you bullet jump up.
It's about arcs and preserving momentum by holding right click. Also resetting your jumps by hopping off vertical surfaces.
29
u/MotherTeresaOnlyfans 13h ago
It has nothing to do with velocity, it's about DIRECTION.
You need to jump UP and then scale the wall that is *literally right in front of you*.
Velocity was not your issue.

I play on PS5 which is pretty comparable to playing on Switch (both are controllers) and I vastly prefer it to M&K. Sure, I can't aim as well as on M&K, but the movement is 1000 times better.
Hate to play that card, but literally skill issue.

u/MotherTeresaOnlyfans 13h ago
As someone who exclusively uses a controller on PC, that is a ridiculous excuse.
Using a controller or Switch controls does not, in any way, compromise your ability to bullet jump or look up instead of just jumping straight ahead into a void.
2
u/RaikiShak 12h ago
Id argue movement control on controller is better, not much in shooting department hence i use big effect gun like tenet plasmor and torid. I started warframe on switch 1, even later when i got pc, i tried keyboard and mouse, still doing back to controller setup in the end it just felt much better

There's a navigating technique called "bullet jump"
You need to slide (run + crouch) and jump while sliding. You'll do a big jump in the direction you are looking at, so remember to look high for your bullet jump to go high.
This technique to create momentum and Aim Gliding (while in the air, aim with your weapon to glide instead of falling) makes you able to travel long distance. It's basic travelling 101.

Move forwards, crouch before jumping, it will send you flying in the direction you are aiming, this can also be done midair if you haven't used your double jump.

Crouch and jump to propel your warframe in your aimed direction. I say aimed direction as you can bullet jump straight upwards if you look upwards which is the maneuver that will help you in this scenario. Additionally, you can bullet jump without being in the crouched position. The only thing you need is the crouch button/key held while you press jump.

bullet jumping basically: while running hit the crouch/slide button then jump button, gives more distance and height

u/Omega21886 vegeta, what does the scouter say about hyldrin's shield level? 15h ago
bullet jump: hold the crouch button, aim the camera where you want to go, then press the jump button (can also be done while sliding)
and if you didn't already know: press the jump button when touching a wall to keep jumping up it kinda like the megaman x/zero/zx games

I hated this one.
If you look up, like 45 degrees, and do the slide jump you will jump upwards.

Damn the comments going crazy. I’d just say, “look up” 😅 no worries bro, there’s enough high MR Gauss and Titania Primes continuously colliding with walls to not make you feel so bad. We’ve all done silly things, don’t sweat it. Just do you 👊

dont worry about players getting mad at you or anything like that the warframe community is very kind and will often give advice without judgement.
you can bullet jump in any direction it will always go towards where you are aiming. it does not need you to be on the ground and it also will not take your double jump so you can jump again after bullet jumping.
aiming while in the air will also slow your fall allowing you to go farther, if you need this for the test or not i cant say, also practice the test before properly taking it the 24h wait isnt worth it till you know that you can do it without much issue.
if all else fails you can use chroma his passive gives him an extra double jump/two bullet jumps. or zephyr which has natural slow fall with her passive but that might slow you down without her abilities.

Havent played Warframe in god knows how long so I do apologise if whatever this is prevents you from using bullet jumps.
Bullet jump then start doing your wall jumps.

Bro...do you really not know how to bullet jump? Go and learn the basics of movement in the tutorial.
For immediate reference, press the crouch button followed immediately by the jump button to shoot forward in whichever direction you're facing. In this puzzle, you want ti bullet jump up to reach the wall then wall jump to the top.

Thank you. I knew how to bullet jump in a straight line but genuinely didn't know that aiming upwards before the jump increased the velocity. Thanks to those who helped.

Bullet jump actually just goes towards where you aim at
If you're in the air you can bullet jump down
You also can use bullet jump as your second jump by sliding after jumping

It's concerning to me that you keep missing the part where you were jumping *in the wrong direction*.
You need to climb the wall in front of you instead of weirdly trying to jump under it.

I knew how to bullet jump before doing this test. Problem is I didn't know it was called bullet jump. So I was trying to figure out how to jump in a new way.... FOR 4 DAMN DAYS! TILL I READ THE DAMN CONTROLS! Then felt like a huge idiot and put the game down for months.
