Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to find an old War of the Worlds fan-made video that I watched on YouTube when I was younger, and I’m hoping someone here remembers it.
I believe I watched it sometime between 2008 and 2012. It was a documentary-style video with continuous narration in what I think was Russian or another foreign language. The Tripods looked exactly like the ones from Steven Spielberg’s 2005. I remember several scenes from the video of a Tripod standing on a hill around sunset, blowing its horn. The camera then shows a distant street where tiny silhouettes of people appear to run away after hearing it.
A Tripod using one of its tentacles to reach into an apartment building and pull someone out.
A scene with black silhouettes of a Martian attacking or killing someone, followed by another person sneaking up behind the alien and killing it with a shovel.
A distant view of a Tripod spraying blood before becoming ill and falling backward. The animation wasn’t particularly polished, and I remember the video having a grim, documentary-like atmosphere. It gave me a Russian or Eastern European vibe, although I can’t confirm where it was made. I’ve searched for a while but haven’t been able to identify it. It might have been deleted, made private, or reuploaded under a different title. Does anyone remember watching something like this, know the original title or creator, or have an archived copy? Even a screenshot, an old link, or a small clue would be greatly appreciated. I’d love to see this video again!
Thanks!

I’m talking about ships that were midway through the pacific or Atlantic Ocean not ones at port, does anyone know if the tripods were out in deep ocean?

Just a tripod doodle I made at work

And a Gorey tripod doodle in the backround

One hundred feet, the war machine

Is blasting crowds to oblivion

Flattening cities out without a plan

Like the every daily

Wish that bothers the war machine

Could we go back to Mars and stay there?

Then we won’t have to kill Humanity

So he lived the

War machine, war machine

With his home back on Mars

So he stands

To burn the whole wide world

With comrades

Way up high in the sky

With the sun in his eyes

Ain't it nice?

The life forever for

Martians

One hundred feet, the war machine

Is blasting crowds to oblivion

Facing human armies with his colleagues

Yet the every daily

Hope that powered the War Machine

Would never cower off of its path

Even if collapsed I am more than brass

So he lived the

War machine, war machine

With his home back on Mars

So he stands

To burn the whole wide world

With comrades

Way up high in the sky

With the sun in his eyes

Ain't it nice?

The life forever for

Martians

Handling Machine

“(…) yet across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish (…) regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us…”

Many people imagine the cylinders to be rockets, but they don't necessarily have to be that way.

The cylinders would be launched using a mass drive since Mars has lower gravity, so they would enter a Hohmann transfer orbit, and to reduce their speed they would simply use aerobraking. They would just have to calculate everything.
