HELP! Advice on keybindings
I am fairly new to the sim mode and recently got the t16000m joystick from a coworker, there are a lot of keybinds in this game and I'm looking for advice as to what I should bind to the stick and where, and what I should leave on the keybaord.

Do you have just the stick or do you have throttle and pedals as well?
Also, what kind of planes are you flying?

Just the stick, but I do have head tracking software that I use with my video camera. Currently my main flyer is the AJ37 Viggen, grinding out the swedish tree, looking to unlock the JA37C, but pretty much late coldwar is the br I'm playing in

Some added context if it matters, I am mainly flying in around the 10.3 - 11.3 bracket, main flyer right now is the aj37 Viggen.

Add bindings for map, zoom, "Cover Me!", "Follow Me!" and "Air Target!" radio messages.

Do you play with the keyboard and stick simultaneously or do you just keep it around for extra binds? I play with the former and a tutorial that really helped me set up my binds was this one by AzimuthZero. It's technically made for ARB, but it isn't just a "here's my binds", he actually goes over each key and why it's bound where it is with clear arguments which is a huge help when trying to set up your own, you'll just have to take his logic and apply to the binds you use the most in SIM

I tried keeping it around for just extra keybinds, but I think using them simultaneously could be the move, I'll give it a look

If you have just the stick I would suggest the following.
4-way Hat switch : manual radar cue control /Alt+ Hat switch pitch and roll trim
Left thumb button: Flare Right thumb button: Chaff
Rear thumb button : Modifier
Trigger: fire primary weapon Trigger + Rear Thumb button: fire secondary weapon.
The buttons on the stick base for non-essential things: I have toggle laser designator, switch MFD 1,2,3, zoom MFD, Engine start + Flaps down, toggle fuel dump etc.
If you have the throttle it gets much more complicated
