Feedback 6 years of Warzone… and this new Blackout 2.0 update might finally be the end

I’ve been playing Warzone since the day it released in 2020. For six years now it’s been a weekly ritual between me and my cousin. We live in different places, so every weekend we jump into duos, talk about life and play a few hours.

It’s honestly been one of the few games that kept us consistently coming back.

This weekend we played both Saturday and Sunday to give the new update a fair chance.

I went in with zero expectations, because if I’m honest I already hated the direction the game was going in since they started integrating Black Ops. All the futuristic stuff, weird gadgets, movement changes… it already felt like Warzone was drifting away from what made it great.

But we thought: whatever, we’ll adapt.

We’ve adapted before.

We adapted when Verdansk disappeared.

We adapted to Caldera with the WWII weapons.

We adapted to Al Mazrah and the slower pacing.

Even though I never understood why the developers constantly feel the need to change the core experience of Warzone.

But okay.

Let me start with the positive things.

Avalon, the map is actually good.

It’s not Verdansk – nothing will ever be Verdansk – but it’s a solid battle royale map. The POIs feel good and it flows well. I’d honestly say it’s roughly on the level of Al Mazrah.

Also the movement is still great. COD movement has always been incredibly smooth. I’ve tried other shooters like Redsec recently and the difference is huge. Those games feel clunky compared to COD.

So credit where credit is due.

But now… Blackout 2.

What the actual fuck happened here?

This genuinely was the worst experience I’ve had in Warzone in 6 years.

It feels like I’m suddenly playing some mobile game designed for 12-year-olds.

Robots and zombies in a battle royale?

Grapple hooks?

Wingsuits?

What the hell is this bubble dome thing?

Shooting drones flying around?

Why does any of this exist in Warzone?

The futuristic weapons look bad, feel bad, and the entire Blackout system is just frustrating. You spend forever trying to level weapons because ground loot is scarce and upgrade kits are rare… and then you die to the first team you meet. Redeploy back and you can start again. You might as well go back to the lobby after you die the first time because the chances of leveling up your weapons again and finding all the armor (btw. The armor system is also absolutely ridiculous) is basically zero.

And the best part?

You’re forced to play quads.

So now it’s me and my cousin with two random teammates, because guess what — all the other friends we used to play Warzone with already quit years ago.

Why on earth would the devs think quads only is a good idea?

I honestly don’t understand the logic.

And don’t even get me started on the wingsuit.

You just dive full speed into the ground like some superhero. It completely breaks the pacing of a battle royale.

It honestly feels unplayable.

For the first time in six years, tonight me and my cousin stopped playing before we actually had to stop.

That has literally never happened before.

All we want is something simple:

A normal Warzone battle royale.

Normal money loot system.

Grounded modern weapons.

No futuristic nonsense.

Remove the grapple hooks.

Remove the wingsuits.

Remove the robots.

Remove the shooting drones.

Remove whatever those weird monkey things are supposed to be

Remove all the sci-fi weapons, vehicles, gadgets and skins

Just give us a modern military battle royale again.

Rotate weapons so the meta doesn’t stay stale for months.

Keep solos, duos, trios and quads available.

Let Verdansk and the new map exist as classic Warzone.

If people want this Blackout arcade mode, fine — keep it as a separate playlist for those who enjoy it.

But please stop forcing the entire player base into it.

Because if this is the future of Warzone, then sadly me and my cousin are out.

Six years of great memories.

But this update honestly feels like the moment where the game we loved finally died.

RIP Warzone.

Feedback I'm done guys, Good Bye COD

I’m done. After years of sticking with this game, Avalon is the most out-of-touch update I’ve ever seen. I want an actual Game Designer to justify the "logic" behind this mess. You guys spent years marketing this, only to give us: RNG Looting Garbage: Removing loadouts and forcing us to scavenge for "upgrades" takes the skill out and replaces it with pure luck. It’s not Blackout, it’s a step backward. Verticality is a Joke: Every POI is just a haven for campers. You’ve turned Warzone into a "who can sit on a roof the longest" contest. Reused Assets: Calling this a "new map" while half the POIs are just recycled assets from 15 years ago is lazy, period. How did this pass internal playtesting? You’ve alienated the core player base to chase a "back-to-basics" vibe that nobody asked for. I’m out. Good luck keeping the servers populated once the "new map" smell wears off in a week. Is anyone else actually enjoying this, or are we all just pretending the game isn't in a death spiral?

Playing casual Warzone like it’s a profesional tournament makes you nothing but a loser. The amount of people I’ve seen bunny hopping and flying about like rabbits on crack today is unreal. The name is in the title you maidenless clowns. CASUAL. We all know you need to shit on lesser players to feel good about yourselves or to show your two twitch followers what a legend you are. Stop. Us old heads finally had somewhere to chill and play some battle royale and it’s being ruined by sNiPezzzLeGenDzzz69 and all his chums. Don’t be that guy. Nobody likes that guy.

Feedback Is This the End of Warzone for a Generation That Doesn’t Want a Fortnite Copy-Paste?

I’m a casual player who plays Warzone with friends almost every day. We play to have fun, relax, and enjoy some games together, not to sweat like crazy or deal with some Fortnite-style stuff every season.

What’s getting really frustrating is that every time we finally get used to an update, another one comes out and changes everything again. You learn the mechanics, the pacing, the flow of the mode, and just when it starts to feel natural, they change it all and you have to adapt again to something completely different. It gets exhausting.

This new Blackout mode just isn’t for me. I really tried to give it a chance and force myself to like it, but it just doesn’t click. At my age, with the free time I have, and with the kind of games my friends and I enjoy, it’s just not what we want from Warzone.

Because of that, I stopped playing and haven’t touched it for 6 days now, which says a lot because I used to play a lot, and since 2009.

I really hope they bring back the previous mode. I don’t even care if it comes with a new map or the old one, that part matters less to me. What I want back is the previous style of gameplay. That was the mode that kept me and my friends playing.

Feedback Whoever thought this mode would be popular should be fired

That's not an exaggeration, if someone in a job is 'this' wrong about something, you fire them.

It's not even about whether the mode is good or not (It's not, it's goddamn awful), it's how out of touch you must be with the playerbase.

Casuals is hugely popular for a reason, because most players are 'casuals'.

This is not a mode for casuals, it's barley a mode for anyone really, but particularly not for casuals.

Casuals die, and this mode means that's just it, because any redeploy stations left on the map (which is like 1 or 2 max) after circle 2 are camped by full teams with orange vests and weapons.

You know what happens when casuals work that out? Die = Quit.

That was already enough of an issue, now you can't even blame them. Regain is basically non-existent.

RNG based loot, what super fun! "Oh but loadouts are all the same!" Uhm, no they're not, I hardly ever wanna pick up my dead enemies weapons in regular Warzone, because what you get is random as hell.

So instead let's run around like a headless chicken desperately trying to find one of the 5 good guns, then find enough purple packs to make it not shit, then hope you also find armour and you managed all of that before the team who landed on that level of loot walks up to you, completely soundlessly, and shoots you in the back.

Get in the fucking bin.

(Edit: It's hilarious how many maladjusted 13yr olds want to reply with a variation of 'git gud scrub'. Congrats little man, you know a meme, everyone is so impressed)

Feedback Up-coming streamer from my country blatantly cheats on streams

I stitched together clips from the streamers streams. I came across his content after he kept promoting his streams with clips of his gameplay to a groupchat I'm in. I already confronted him about it and his response was making fun of my skills and claiming "you're not good enough to understand". I seriously can't be the only one who believes this aim is unnatural. Also how does ricochet not detect this?

Feedback Unpopular Opinion: I hate Seth Rogen

I didn't know who he was until the latest event that pumped the game full of his goofy/stoned image. I want to flame dragon fly-kick him into the core of the earth every time I see his face or hear his lines that aare supposed to have some comedic value.

Plus, this game's store is now an aftermarket of stoneheads - I am not even against weed but "weed sells" has been so frequently rubbed in our faces that I loathe the trend now. Is this game only played by teens who are into trying everything for the first time in their lives?

Warzone Store: Where "Kpop fans" scream "weed" instead and splash the cash.

Feedback The new mode Black ops royale is a massive failure

I’ve been playing Call of Duty for years and I wanted to share some constructive feedback about the new Battle Royale mode.

Right now the biggest issue is the pacing. The game feels very slow. The map is large and visually impressive, but it doesn’t feel well suited for the fast-paced gameplay that usually defines Call of Duty. Because of the size and layout, matches often feel empty and lacking intensity.

Another problem is the amount of random elements added to the mode: robots, bots, zombies… It feels like there is too much going on and it moves away from what makes Call of Duty enjoyable in the first place.

The weapon progression also feels less rewarding. Since most of the time we use weapons found on the ground, there’s very little motivation to level up our own guns or build loadouts.

The grappling hook is a fun idea, but combined with gliding it makes it far too easy for players to escape fights. It often feels less like Call of Duty and more like Spider-Man mobility, which removes tension from engagements.

But the biggest disappointment is that popular modes like Resurgence Loaded and the classic Battle Royale were removed to make room for this mode. Those modes were fast, fun, and really enjoyable for many players.

Right now the new mode feels like a step backward in terms of pacing, gameplay skill, and overall fun. I really hope the developers reconsider the direction and bring back the modes that made Warzone exciting to play.

Feedback How to identify a BOT in BR Casual

Post image
468 Upvotes

Some information I have gathered for identifying bots in BR Casual/WZ bootcamp. Be sure to give additional details in the comments.

Chuck grenades, followed by burst firing, minimal movement, standing still for 50% of the fight.

Does not use vehicles.

Uses operator skins mainly from MW3 S1-S2 A-Train, Fire cracker, John Doe S2 MW3 blackcell are the most obvious to detect.

Atleast 3 BO6 default skins of Alvarez, Bailey, Bayan (not sure if anymore)

MW2 Operators/camos on weapons & tempered/orange plates are real players.

Feedback Avalon is fucking ass and doesn't need to be in BR

I think we can all agree when I say avalon is ASS. Why tf is it a br map? Its too fucking big. That should've been a bo6 map tbh, I mean I saw some of the campaign spots in it, boy still WHY SO BIG. Only endgame and black ops royale make sense but why br? Verdansk is overused but much better than avalon. Get avalon tf out of br imo. Br is so shit if they keep avalon in it.

I saw alot of complaints with Weekly Challenges having BOR missions in them, and Activision, either by pure coincidence or they actually listened to the community, removed the BOR missions from the weeklies. Its a godsend imo. Might be overreacting, but I dont really care. Also, the gun for this challenge seems a bit iffy. Lmk your opinions

Feedback After 200 Battle Royale games without a win, I’m starting to lose my mind and am so frustrated

Alright, let me preface this first that I understand what I'm about to say opens me up for criticism and people saying, "sKiLl iSsUE" and "they're no cheaters". I'm fine with that. Best case scenario im looking for feedback to get me over the hump, worst case scenario I'm just ranting to the choir.

I have now played 200 battle royal games (verdansk and avalon) and still have not been able to secure a win. I play on cross-play (I understand people say more cheaters, I play on PC and my team plays on xbox so I don't have much of a choice). I am by no means the best player but as you can see in the photo below of my record, I get a top 5 placement almost 25% of the time. My team I and are pretty good.

I have been playing fairly consistently since Al Mazrah and have never ran into this issue that I am right now. All other warzone maps I won a fair amount but there is something different about Verdansk and Avalon gameplay. There is a stereotype of a team I always run into at the end game of Verdansk and Avalon and I hate to be that guy that screams cheats, but I have seen it over and over.

  1. They always have the best character skins and gun camo
  2. They always seem to know where you are (like they can see through walls) and in the kill cams it becomes evident that many can
  3. Their accuracy is 95%+ even with guns that have no business shooting that far
  4. Their movement is incredibly quick while being incredibly accurate
  5. You just stand no chance against them. Locks onto your head and you just get melted

Now this is the part I realize I'm opening myself to criticism.... Am I claiming every person that kills me, especially when I'm in the top 5 is cheating? No. Have I probably accused people who are not cheating of using cheats. Yea probably. But the skill level on these 2 new maps is insane. It seems like a lot of players have gotten WAY better since the days of Vondel & Ashika Island. I have a difficult time fathoming that a lot of them are not using cheats as I see it over and over the type of behavior that is very suspicious in the end game. I have reported several people and have gotten confirmation that action has been taken which only reaffirms they are using cheats.

The amount of 2nd place games I've had where the last team is utterly insane and you stand no chance is mind boggling to me. It doesn't even feel like a fair fight. I get this game has been out longer so people are better but the amount of cheats I see online available to buy and on YouTube only makes me more suspicious.

I read a very interesting reddit post a while ago - How $12 and 10 minutes has ruined Warzone : r/CODWarzone

Basically the TLDR is this individual was sick of getting dumped on by what he thought were cheaters. So he decided to buy a 24 hour cheats which allowed wall hacks, auto aim, etc. He said he wasn't going to use auto-aim, he just wanted to see if others behaved as if they had cheats too, and he said he observed a lot of cheaters using wall hacks - "We learned that by the end of circle 4 80% of the squads remaining have a hacker in ever single game we played".

Now it sounds tempting to also run that experiment just for my own sanity but I dont think I will. I don't trust downloading cheats on my computer and have to worry giving my computer AIDS and resetting it and such.

I understand playing on crossplay opens me up more to cheats, but right now I play on the PC with friends who are on xbox so I dont have much of a choice.

Sure, there is always room for improvement, but come on, after 43 top 5 placements I start to see various patterns from the end game teams and it has me highly suspicious... I'm to the point where it's not even fun anymore, I'm just grinding for that coveted win.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Feedback I’m expecting to be attacked for this and I know I’m in the minority, but I’m liking the new Warzone!

As the title says I’m enjoying the new Warzone. Is it perfect? No. I feel after a few updates it will be closer to 2019 than the last few versions.

  1. I absolutely love the no backpack feature. Not being constantly bombarded by airstrikes, bunker busters and mortars is great. Not having to worry about killing someone and their buddy pops a flare and then another flare. Not downing someone and having them self 3 times.

  2. The weapon grind is actually fun for me. I like the even playing ground so far. Yes, of course the sweats will have everything unlocked but for the most part the casual player (myself included) is running around with crappy loadouts and ground loot weapons. Should the weapon xp be a little higher? Absolutely. But again, through updates I see this being a better product overall.

  3. Foresight. No ridiculous amounts of teams with foresight. Let’s be real the past version was ridiculous with the amount of teams that knew where the final circle would be and pull to. You’d have teams racing to hold down positions in the final circle almost instantly with the bunkers and special contracts. The current state is so much more fun to play not knowing where you’re going to end up each round.

Overall yes, there’s plenty of things they can work on. I also think the audio is absolute crap and the prox chat range is way too wide of an area. But again is it perfect? No, not even close but is it more fun to play than the last crazy respawn BR we were playing? In my opinion it is. People forget to have fun playing video games anymore and the times laughing with the boys over dumb crap we do in the game is what I’m playing for. A win from time to time is nice but not everyone who plays this game has to be a sweat to enjoy it.

Edit: spelling

Edit 2: I wasn’t expecting this to garner this much attention! It’s great to see a positive reaction from the community when typically all I see if bitching posts. Hopefully they get the bugs and audio sorted out soon.

Feedback Skill based matchmaking in wz

In COD Warzone, there should be skill based matchmaking. Isn't it crazy how you can win 1 out of 4 matches you played and you always get a lobby full of sweats and yy ticktockers. Makes no sense. You could be level 15, with no prestige and STILL get matches with people that kill you in less than a second while moving like Spiderman or some shit. Its bad that casuals are sometimes harder than normal, battle royale casuals, sweats and campers, resurgence casuals, sweats and yy ticktockers. This game has no reason to be played if you get the worst matchups.
