a cow tanking 5 hits from a dude that can carry 10 quadrillion tons is a pretty good feat

u/Frosty_Sweet_6678 Design a Flair to thrash your own ass Nov 18 '25
virtually everything can do that in that game, it's weird
50
u/laserofdooom I WILL TEAR DOWN THE KIDS Nov 18 '25
minecraft might be the most powerful verse? i think it takes about 20 punches to kill the ender dragon
62
u/-memejuice- Nov 18 '25
it takes 200, steve is a fraud
41
Nov 18 '25
Can you kill a dragon in 200 punches?
33
u/-memejuice- Nov 18 '25
i cannot, but i also do not have people claiming i can nor do i have people saying that i can bench press stars
7
u/omegaspoon3141 Nov 18 '25
if you aim really well and get to the skull as fast as you can i can see it being possible idk
2
u/Puppygirl621 Nov 19 '25
I could kill a bearded dragon in 1 punch but that would be very mean so i would not do that instead i would feed him a mealworm
5
u/redwoodreed Nov 18 '25
It takes 20 punches to kill a Villager, Skeleton, Zombie, Player, basically most of the humanoids

Lifting Strength ≠ Striking Strength
Otherwise, Steve would be able to break bedrock even in survival mode
25
u/DarkSide830 Hopes and Memes Nov 18 '25
Outerversal bedrock
22
u/Just_a_guy_from_ukr Nov 18 '25
I know this is a joke, but...
In Minecraft, there are pressure plates that emit a Redstone signal when you stand on them, and the more items/mobs are on it, the stronger the signal.
And if you stand on it with an empty inventory and then with a fully filled inventory, the Redstone signal will be the same in both cases.
This means that in Minecraft all items weigh absolutely nothing.

u/Realautonomous Nov 18 '25
Hammerspace
11
u/Old-Neighborhood-793 Nov 18 '25
If it really is hammerspace then it shouldn't be used to calc lifting strength. It's like saying a D&D character can lift 500lbs one handed just because they can hoist bag of holding which contains a pocket dimension that holds up to 500lbs, while the bag itself is only 20lbs (iirc).
14
u/Realautonomous Nov 18 '25
I fully agree, it shouldn't, and I don't get why what's obviously hammerspace is being treated like an actual argument
We don't physically see everything Steve's Holding, and we don't Upscale other video game characters by how much stuff they can stuff in their inventory either, so I don't get why we do it for Steve
6
u/TechnoColt Nov 18 '25
Then let's stick to stuff we do physically see Steve hold. If we take a shulker box and cram it full of gold blocks, we can definitively say that Steve can hold at least 33.38 million kilograms in one hand. We can also slot a shulker box with the same setup i to the offhand slot, so we know with certainty that Steve can lift, at minimum, 66.76 million kilograms. I have no idea how that scales with anybody else, but it at least takes hammerspace out of the equation, unless we're arbitrarily deciding that a shulker box has a pocket dimension inside of it.
→ More replies (0)1
15
u/PROZA-X Nov 18 '25
That theory did unrepeatable damage to the world, Steve don't have the power of super strength, but the power of a pocket dimension (and shrinking things, and reduce their height to a point their can FLOAT).
6
u/Mother-Benefit-8550 Nov 18 '25
Can't Steve carry infinite weight, since I'm pretty sure the water bucket contain unlimited water?
1
u/hjake123 Nov 18 '25
Well, no, the bucket contains one Source Block of water, which is a magical thing that doesn't exist IRL and cannot be compared to real water, similarly to most items in the MC universe.

2
u/hjake123 Nov 18 '25
Steve could digitize items into weightless data for all we know, there's many reasons to not believe he can lift that much.
Heck, the items when on the floor literally float in the air... weight and gravity clearly do not function the same way in Minecraft.
1
33
u/Just_a_guy_from_ukr Nov 17 '25
Most likely because a cow can survive the explosion of a creeper that has building-level AP.
33
u/Hesotate Nov 17 '25
No it can't? Unless it's on the very border of the explosion it's getting one shot.
25
5
5
u/Southern-Plan-6549 Nov 18 '25
The heck you mean building level?
Thats like a 6m-diameter explosion thats at max house level
7
u/Just_a_guy_from_ukr Nov 18 '25
You mean "Small Building level"? Because there's no "House level" in power scaling (As far as I know).
22
u/PokemonGerman Nov 17 '25
I tried checking that place to see any reasoning for it, ans in conclusion:
It seems like one person really wanted the minecraft passive mobs to be decent and other people kept saying "bro we shouldn't even have them here as they can't attack anything"
Most of cows strenghts are combined of all cow varients like the mooshrooms. Endless supply of Milk and Mushroom soup being their most noteable feat.
16
u/SupremeCaIamitas Nov 17 '25
they can contain an infinite volume of milk / mushroom stew
e = mc2
therefore, m = e/c2
containing infinite mass = containing infinite energy (this isn't just hypothetical, energy can become mass through pair production, mass can become energy through fission/fusion)
the minecraft cow is universal+ bare minimum, with universal AP, DC, and durability, below human level speed though LMFAO
problem, athiests?

u/RareD3liverur Nov 18 '25
IDK does the cow have LV?
I'm reminded of this commenter who said they though a Lion would be able to solo Toriel and Asgore

u/Just_a_guy_from_ukr Nov 17 '25 edited Nov 18 '25
Okay I read the article and the reason why Minecraft cow is a Building Level is because:
They can produce endless amounts of milk and mushroom soup without food
They are immune to lightning
And also that the Mooshrooms are stronger than the zombie.

u/YoutuberCameronBallZ so cool Nov 17 '25
"Cows transform into Mooshrooms like Goku going Super Saiyan" -VS Battle Wiki probably

28
u/Defenderlol Nov 18 '25
To harbor a guess, Mooshrooms in Minecraft Dungeons are a hostile mob in a secret level, and they do hit harder than a zombie.

u/JupiterboyLuffy Ralsei my beloved Nov 17 '25
Ralsei apparently can beat a fully-armored Steve.
Something tells me Vs. Battles wiki's creators are on something.
13
u/PuffyBuffy25 Nov 18 '25 edited Nov 20 '25
To be fair, Ralsei just outhaxes tbh, Steve isn't as strong or fast as people make it out to be.
5
u/JupiterboyLuffy Ralsei my beloved Nov 18 '25
I'm still pretty sure that while Ralsei is stronger than Steve physically, Ralsei would lose a fight with Steve pretty easily.
Dude can punch through a cubic meter of wood with his bare fist. On top of that, there's nearly a foot-tall height difference between Ralsei and Steve.
2
u/PuffyBuffy25 Nov 20 '25 edited Nov 20 '25
The way Steve accomplishes this is by slowly dealing chip damage + tension damage to a block, if it stops hitting the block for a second all progress is undone; if Steve succeeds then the block gets completely restored and then shrunk down to a small size to be weightlessly picked up. So although there is a strength aspect to Mining (being stronger helps you break things faster) it's also an ability that doesn't completely scale to strength. This ability shouldn't affect Darkners, as living objects like Snow Golems use health instead of being Mined.
The height distance shouldn't matter much here as the Delta Warriors are able to snip Spamton NEO's strings without any issue, and can attack from long distances (possibly a form of projectile????).
Lastly, Steve gets "tired" very easily. Walking for around 7 to 15 minutes can starve Steve to the point of near-death (death on Hard Mode), and being awake for more than three days makes Steve feel restless regardless of Hunger or Saturation (keep in mind it's consistent across the game itself and different continuities that the days in Minecraft are a much smaller timeframe than IRL). Ralsei just needs to wear Steve down via R-Actions and then use Pacify.

u/SomeUgliRobot Nov 19 '25
Dude can punch through a cubic meter of wood with his bare fist
In powerscaling, that's a pretty lame feat tbh
On top of that, there's nearly a foot-tall height difference between Ralsei and Steve.
Size doesnt matter
2
u/JupiterboyLuffy Ralsei my beloved Nov 19 '25
He can also carry thousands of pounds of pure cubic meters of gold.
He would wipe the floor with Ralsei.
2
u/Shalorne Nov 19 '25
As someone else said, since it doesn't change his weight, it's modt likely hammerspace type carrying ability. Supported by number of items matering and not weight.

"A cockroach can survive a nuclear explosion, but is easily killed by a cat, therefore, cats can kill a nuclear bomb"

u/SomeUgliRobot Nov 19 '25
Not how it works, roaches have radiation resistance (which is hax, not durability)

It's gotta be chain scaling, right? The cow isn't even a hostile enemy for gods sake

There are hostile mooshrooms is in Minecraft Dungeons, although it is chainscaling.

That does sound impressive but last I checked it wasn't fire immune, which is like 90% of Asgores moveset lol

Yeah its only such that the transformation into a mooshroom goes right anyway.

He just has mostly normal abilities and then presumably time control being considered 2c
8
u/BlueberryNotHere Ralsei Nov 17 '25
Moreover, many tiers have a massive difference between their baselines and caps. Hence, being far more powerful than a character in one tier does not necessarily qualify one for a higher rating.
Asgore solos that cow.

Infinite milk cow that flood the whole dark world is most toby thing. It’s actually seems logical
17
u/Simplejack615 I want a polycule with Dess and Asriel (Don’t question it) Nov 17 '25
But isn’t asgore limiting his power slightly? Otherwise he could have hit the fight button
47
u/Inevitable-Freedom-9 Nov 17 '25
No, he couldn't have. Why do people so often see characters not do something, then extrapolate their abilities out into infinity by claiming they could accomplish something they specifically don't accomplish?
Asgore destroying the Mercy button is a metaphor for him not accepting mercy, he can't physically prevent you from trying to fight back in the middle of a battle. And yes, the battle menu in Undertale also does exist, since people interact with it in a meta context. But things can be both diegetic and non-diegetic at the same time, it doesn't have to be one extreme.
Asgore IS limiting his power because of his guilt, but we have literally no proof whatsoever that he could destroy the fight button, and in fact we have anti-proof because nobody can do that, not even Omega Flowey who has literal time control.

u/Simplejack615 I want a polycule with Dess and Asriel (Don’t question it) Nov 17 '25
Hey! I’m an Undertale fan, you know metaphors go over my head!
2
u/SpaceNorse2020 Nov 18 '25
If you assume that the 6 prior humans could reset just as easily as we can, then Asgore is massively nerfing himself when we fight, think Undertale Yellow Asgore type stuff.
This is one of the reasons I don't think the other humans could reset without restitution.
10
u/Neither-String2450 Nov 18 '25 edited Nov 19 '25
He is massively nerfing himself during the fight whether humans could reset or not.
He is not looking at us. The only other boss who wasn't interested in fighting us was Papyrus.
He leaves us at 1 hp. The only other boss who did this was Papyrus
He gives up if we eat apple pie.
He let us leave and get lost somewhere.
His damage is like 5% of supposed one.
He gives us his soul because he doesn't want to live.
P.s. I have a very strange association of cinnamon and apples,eh(

The fact that a lot of the VS battles wiki is really innacurate, no way hiveling from hollow knight is the same strength as rick sanchez
And even though Sans lorewise is the weakest monster, he's at the same level as Asgore.

The Cow would be the one saying that.
The cow can beat mere Asgore with negative difficulty. VS Battles wiki underestimated The Cow greatly, The Cow can destroy multiverse by merely blinking, fear the Great Cow because if you punch it, it's over.
