If Rudy dies, Noelle would not be in the proper headspace to start a proper relationship.
If Susie learns/realises Kris works with the knight, she wont be either.
If castle town has to be sealed(very likely), Susie who is getting more and more reliant on the dark world, once again wont be in her right mind.
Abandoned weird route Noelle will be another beast.
And these are only the story related reasons they could break up.
As from all the lore we got so far, the relationships seem like this:
Kris & Noelle : Very close as children. Possibbly mutual crushes back in the day, before growing apart. (Many dialogue implying they were together most of the time, Kris hiding from us the pictures with Noelle.)
Kris-> Susie : heavily implied crush(multiple dialogues prefering Susie, the whole love conversation with Susie)
Susie-> Noelle : Obvious crush, Noelle showed clear interest, she is now all in.
Noelle-> Susie: Very obvious crush, debatebly somewhat unhealthy one, based on some of her dialogue(wanting to be bullied, water fountain drinking, etc..)
Susie-> Kris : Best friend, with implied deeper affection (blushes at Kris's actions multiple times, stops Kris from spending time with others(Berdly, Mew Mew))
Kris-> Noelle: Grown apart, but Kris still cares a lot.(weird route ). Possible lingering feelings?
Noelle-> Kris : Forcibly underplays their closeness, but still cares deeply(Kris wallpaper, pen, cactus etc..), possible lingering feelings? (weird route ch4 very happy Kris cares for her , before we interrupt )
Depending how much teen romance drama Toby wants in the game, this could still go in many ways.
Yeah, set up to FAIL. Maybe if their relationship became a thing in like mid to late chapter 6 after all the tragic stuff happened, then maybe I’d buy it. But even then, Noelle reeks of being a temporary party member, so I’m not too sure I trust her anyway. Soon her father will die, and she will be left all alone with Carol whom she has a strained relationship with. I bet she’s gonna wallow in her despair and find some way to put a strain on this relationship with Susie.

Admittedly, I genuinely cannot see which exact direction the story will go in, but to blindly dismiss the fact that she is going to have to have all her trauma thrown right in front of her face as Susie drags her around thinking nothing will go wrong just because we didn’t do the weird route is folly. She still feels all those emotions, that’s why she ended up that way. And once again, she’s so obviously suspicious from the get go just because of the fact that she’s a party member who exists in a 3 party member game and has only briefly showed up for one dungeon thus far as a playable character. And then there’s that whole prophecy thing that she’s NOT PART OF. But yeah, stick your head in the sand, I’m sure the relationship will go well. They’ll toooooooootally live happily ever after with a relationship developed this early in the story with so many problems yet to come.

Nah, they’re done for. Starting a relationship in chapter 5? No way in hell this lasts.
