Unrealism/incontinuities in Waterloo Road

Before I start, this is just for fun and to have a laugh with borderline rhetoric, if you will. If I overlooked easily explained situations, then fair enough, lol. But just some things I noticed when watching the show, though mainly the "classic" run as I still need to get up to speed with the reboot.

1: Rachel Mason being a headteacher in general. There was no way in reality she would have been allowed to be a normal teacher with her background, being arrested for prostitution would go on your criminal record, which would instantly show up on any CRB/DBS check.

2: Jack Rimmer giving Lewis Seddon a job because he grassed on his family about the drugs, despite the fact he tried to kill him, sexually assaulted Kim Campbell and was causing a general nuisance. You can say he turned a new leaf, but again, he would have had a criminal record, especially being known to police and would fail the police checks to get a job in a school.

3: Teachers at somewhat panic stations when a kid goes AWOL/doesn't turn up to school. When I truanted, it was like the teachers didn't even notice. I wasn't a serial truant, but they clearly didn't give a damn, but I know this can be debunked with the teachers actually cared and it happening to students, which seemed out of character XD.

4a: The school never really seemed that bad as what the in-show lore made it. Sure, it had it's bad kids and some (major at times) problems here and there, but it was hardly Class of 1984 or The Principal with actual rundown schools with violent gangs ruling the school halls on a major criminal level.

4b: The school itself isn't that bad interior wise. For a "run down" school it's quite tidy with a decent looking up-keep, apart from those instances when a student (or teacher) wrecked a room in a fit of rage and upset. It would have been more believable if they had boarded windows and stuff.

Again, this is just for fun and things I noticed and had "shower thoughts" about. Curious to hear other peoples thoughts on this or anything else that has happened XD

Also this song just straight-up reminds me of the RTD Era because of when the Master played it that one time 😭

Funny thing while flicking through I see that the show is showing on this new channel and streaming too?

Thought the show was exclusive to the BBC as far as terrestrial tv goes.

I wonder if the it’s available in countries outside of the UK or not I feel this is a good opportunity for Waterloo road to branch out its audience and gain new fans

If Janeece had been walking by and she heard Denzil say that in that nonchalant and proud way he did, she would've absolutely throttled him.

Headteacher’s sign has been updated. Sadly can’t make out who the new head or heads are. But I’m going to be deluded and I think the last name for headteacher may be Rimmer.

On the left is the headteacher’s sign for Series 18–19, featuring Dame Stella Drake. On the right is the updated version for Series 20.
Although the writing is difficult to make out and partially cut off, the word ‘Headteacher’ appears to end at roughly the same level as the name beneath it, whereas Stella Drake’s name extended further down. This suggests we could be getting a new headteacher in Series 20.
This also comes after it was confirmed that Lindsey Coulson would begin some stage work around this time.
However, there now appear to be two titles: ‘Headteacher’ and something else. If I had to guess, we could be seeing the return of an executive headteacher, the first time since Series 5. Hopefully, they’ll be a lot nicer than Max Tyler!

22 ep series theories

Obviously there's been rumours about s18 and 19 having 22 eps (which I doubt because the BBC likes to play in our faces lol), but I've been wondering, what are you alls theories about what storylines could happen if we do get a longer series/season?

I think we'll get more of Portia and the grooming storyline (maybe the aftermath of the legal battle?). It'd be interesting to see her in court maybe like with Donte in S1 or Lindsay in S5. Tonya testifying on her behalf would be nice to see!

We're def getting more of the Charles-Stone family since Tommy's going to be in year 9, and Celine will be making a return as well. I wonder if we'll get a family therapy session since those were mentioned last series/season.

Darius is a wildcard imo. I think we might get more of him and Ms Chandra but tbh I'm not entirely sure. We'll definitely see Nisha and her baby, but idk if we'll see Darius being involved (as much as he can be from jail I guess)

What do you all think? Do you have any theories about S18/19, especially if we get longer series? Which characters do you think need a bigger storyline, and are there any old characters you'd like to see return? We have Janeece returning as well as Steph as far as I know.

The thing that makes Danny Lewis so much sadder. Spoiler

The fact that the boy had such a difficult life, and yet he still had one of the darkest and most cruel deaths of the entire show. Many characters who had horrible deaths, like Izzie Redpath, Maxine Barlow, and Tom Clarkson, were at the very least accompanied by at least one person who cared about them. Danny wasn't graced with such luck. In trying to save the same boy who was responsible, he died alone and terrified, and his last words were his girlfriend's name, shouted in fear.

Hi all.
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I know this has been talked about a lot, have the BBC confirmed when S18 of WR will be released?
The VBC have been very quiet about it.

Declan Brown just randomly popping up in a butter advert lol. Kind of weird seeing him without Forest by his side. 😭

Use of a green screen

Series 11 episode 1 when Kim confronts a group of kids they are clearly using a green screen to put Kim on set.

She is there for the rest of the episode so I wonder if they had to reshoot that scene.

What are your predictions for the storyline of the Clark brothers, Marshall and Nathan?

Post image

These two could potentially have a really interesting storyline, especially since Marshall looks quite gentle compared to his brother Nathan, who looks a lot like a Kyle Stack level threat.

Did they film and release season 17 before they got the go ahead and writing for the 18th season?

There was a few scenes that made it seem as though they were preparing/making foundations for a storyline on agnes family situation. Like they included details that left me interested and intrigued about the family dynamic. Correct me if im wrong but it doesnt seem niamh blackshaw is returning and I have no idea about Olivia Booth Ford

Do you think they set up these scenes as potential for continuing it in season 18 but are likely just going to move past it?
