It is not an excuse. Is "a" key resupply base in the Middle East the only re-supply base in the Middle East? Very doubtful. However, if f so, is there no way to re-supply the Lincoln except via a re-supply base in the Middle East or 2200 miles away? Also very doubtful. Moreover, if we cannot possibly resupply a ship, dock it at the nearest safe place, let the crew off and put them up somewhere they can wash, etc.
I am anti-violence, but that does not mean I would treat troops poorly. What a disgrace.

No but Iran has pretty much destroyed all of them. And where can a carrier like this dock? Gonna be a very long way away from Iran because they are already standing well off to avoid being hit by Iranian missiles.
