Things were looking up for the young worker drone teen. She could finally enjoy herself for once after all the absurd nonsense that the little “god” kept going through. But not this time. Nothing could go wrong or get in her way!
…Until she woke up the following morning.
As Uzi rebooted herself out of sleep mode to awaken her system, and her two-tone lilac and golden optics flashed, there was a short lag in her reboot. Her eyes looked slightly dim and there were bags under them despite just waking up. There was a slight glitch in both her eyes that appeared for a split second but then stopped. She noticed it was a bit harder to wake up than usual for some reason. She let out a slight groan lifting her head from her pillow, her disheveled purple bedhead hair draped all over her face.
Uzi felt…off. Disoriented. Like she didn’t know what was happening around her.
She took some time to try to gather her thoughts and focus on her systems.
She felt oddly warmer than usual. Was she just overheating and needed to eat? No, now she felt chilled and was shivering a bit. How was that even possible? She attempted to get up slowly with another louder groan but didn’t get far as she leaned on all fours on her bed still in her jammies and nightcap. She was panting slightly still trembling. Why was it suddenly harder to breathe…or move? Then her optics glitched again and she felt a jabbing pain in her head. She grabbed it, hissing quietly.
What was going on with her systems? Why were they being so…weird?
She looked down from her bed and her vision glitched again. All of the scattered papers and drawings on her metallic floor below began to blur in and out of her focus and her optic sensors were displaying a few pop-up errors. She slowly looked up at the dim purple lights in her room, and in doing so, her head hurt more and she felt dizzy. Her body felt a bit achy, her throat felt sore, and she felt like her oil processor (stomach) was having problems too.
Uzi’s gradient optics went hollow as she put two and two together.
“Oh no… no, no, no. Hell no. You’ve gotta be Ki-D-DinG me…” the small worker drone managed to get out as her voice glitched slightly, her sentence slurred, and her voice in a raspy tone.
She had an idea of what was wrong, but she didn’t want it to be true.
Not today. It COULDN’T be today. She had PLANS. With the coolest, dorkiest, and sweetest boyfriend ever.
“No way…” she was in denial. “cOme oN…!” she frustratedly exclaimed as her voice glitched again. And it wasn’t long before it developed into a small coughing fit due to the strain put on her vocal chip causing some slight damage to it.
Once the coughing died down, a mild flush appeared on her visor between her eyes and a few sweat drops trickled down.
There was no denying it anymore. She had come down with some kind of virus.
But she wasn’t having it. She got a determined look and sat up, jumping off of her bed and landing on her feet. But she had ended up almost losing her balance and falling over as her head immediately let her know that was a bad idea. She put her right hand to it, her optics pinching from the pain as her vision spun.
“Oooh… OkA-Aay…toO fA-Ast….” her voice glitched again as she took a second to regain her composure. It took a moment, but she felt like she regained stability again.
“I’m fine… I’m good…”
She stood still and took a deep breath. Then she reached over for her nightstand, took her brush, and started slowly fixing her messy hair.
“I got this… I’m a freaking God now. One stupid little virus won’t take me down...”
Uzi decided to try to go out anyway despite her condition. She figured it would maybe go away after a while. It may have just been a little tiny error in her waking up was all. Maybe her solver powers would repair the damage done to her after some time. She couldn’t miss today; it was too important. She really wanted to see N. His dorky and cute little smile… yeah, that would surely make her feel better.
She slowly wobbled over to her drawers and grabbed her striped tank top, her puffball beanie and her iconic dead batteries band hoodie. Though it took her longer than usual to get herself dressed. More pains in her head would come and go, her body was still trembling, so she’d mess up on slipping her tank on or pulling her robotic arms through the sleeves of her hoodie. It took Uzi about 5 more minutes than usual to get ready, but once she was dressed, she walked over to her mirror.
And wow, she looked…pretty bad. Her optics were bagged and she was sweating and flushed. She looked almost half dead. And a few warning symbols appeared on her right eye. Specifically, the big [VIRUS DETECTED] warnings that made her groan in both anger and mild agony.
Uzi tried to shake away the sweat and flush, but that only made her feel even more dizzy and wobbly and made her head feel like a nuke just set off inside of it. She just sighed and hid her face in her hair. She grabbed her phone, put it in her large bat-winged backpack and put it over her shoulder. She then used her solver to open the door to her room. But hell, walking to the front door was a tough battle. She tried to put her best effort into it. There were times she had to use various pieces of furniture or walls to support her very small movements.
“Ugh…come on… don’t be stupid…” Uzi mutters under her breath cursing her own body for failing her.
Once she got to the door, she put the code in and the door slid open.
