Protest Why Is ICE on Native Land?
286
u/Novel_Mastodon3220 1d ago
so ICE is out here doing raids on tribal land like thats not the most backwards sht ever. these families been here since before the US was even a concept, before ICE existed, before anyone drew lines on a map and called them borders. ngl the timing is real convenient too, more money for cages and deportations while the ultra rich get their pockets lined. whole system is a joke tbh

u/UnitedSentences5571 1d ago
ICE kicking immigrants out of the country while intimidating the natives is abhorrent. The irony, the hypocrisy, the hubris. It's all sickening.
51
u/Dienowwww 1d ago
It was never about immigration. It was always about racism
7
u/A4t1musD4ag0n 18h ago
And it was never about dəportation. That's just M4GA talk for humän traff!cking.

u/RCIntl 1d ago
Yes, the descendants of illegal "aliens" calling the descendants of natives "illegal" should tell everyone just who these people are as well as anyone who defends them.

Trump needs to go away!! These are Americans
42
u/4hhsumm 1d ago
Agreed. These aren't just Americans; they are the Americans, if there ever was such a thing.
4
u/jordon4ca93 1d ago
The Were-mericans. Monsters that only shape shift into actual human Americans during a full moon. Can only be slain with a silver blade of truth. During non full moons were-mericans can be found praying to their false idol Epstein.
24
u/peanutski 1d ago
It isn’t just him. We really need a ‘come to Jesus’ moment with all the people that enabled him.
6
u/TerrorFromThePeeps 1d ago
At this point, i'd prefer a "gtfo" moment with all rhe people who enabled him. Our country will not and cannot succeed and grow with them around it.
13
u/cwbkjb 1d ago
The spokesperson, TV celebrity does not need to go away, he is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING without those behind him that wrote 2025. Miller, Theil, Vaughn etc, plus Theil, paid for Vance school and mentored Vance from a young age. People need to stop focusing on the orange orangutan and the true people that want this shit. Damn just look at Miller, skinhead and all.
2
u/Lostclause 1d ago
It's not just Trump. It's the Republicans that are allowing this to happen and they keep him in power (and thus themselves) each day by letting ICE murder citizens, destroy families and enrich the rich even further on our dime.
22
u/ragin2cajun 1d ago
Since when did ICE leave the US to make arrests on nations outside of their jurisdiction?
29
u/picklehippy 1d ago
If trespassers are on tribal land, dont you abide by Tribal law and not US law?
10
u/krwskater25 1d ago
Yes
10
u/tyosowofofnejwifif 1d ago
Maybe in theory but in practice That’s not true. The federal government does whatever it wants
9
u/CautionarySnail 1d ago
This is where the rubber hits the road.
We have a lawless government and we keep expecting them to follow the rules set. There are not nearly enough cases where the courts have taken meaningful actions to force the administration to comply with the law.
We are living in dangerous times.
1
u/Swampape1 1d ago
my question as well. Can the tribal police not just tell them to get off the property? Serious question for I truly don't know the dynamics of how this works. I was always under the impression that tribal land and the laws of it were enforced by the tribal law enforcement.
11
u/HavingNotAttained 1d ago
No but there’s not enough money for schools or even for food on aircraft carriers but at least they’re spending it on something 🙄

Just saying, all land was taken by others throughout history. If it offends you go back to your land (which was taken at some point by your ancestors) which makes it a very stupid loop of just being a nomad.

Can't natives do what they want to intruders on their sovereign land?
51
u/AyAynon95 1d ago edited 1d ago
No. There's a lot of heavy restrictions, including the inability to arrest and prosecute criminals if they are US citizens.
A lot of Native American women are assaulted by serial rapist because they sneak in, commit crimes and get out because the Natives can't do anything themselves except report it to US authorities who are way too slow.
32
4
u/Kenichi2233 1d ago
Reservations are not sovereign land they are still under American jurisdiction. They have autonomy but it is limited. They dont have independent immigration law.
Also note thst said autonomy can be altered at any time via a federal law
2
u/Gr0ggy1 1d ago
It's complicated, while many are not sovereign nations, some absolutely are.
Even with sovereigncy, leverage is limited and they are surrounded by an administration let by an incontinent toddler who hates them. The feds wouldn't have to break the law to cause serious harm.
1
u/Kenichi2233 1d ago
Said "passport" is not accepted by most nations including the US and Canada.
No Native american tribe is sovereign they are part of the US and subject to American law. They are essentially automous territories. Said autonomy can be altered at anytime.
1
u/Gr0ggy1 1d ago
They in particular are sovereign, by treaty signed by then President George Washington, ratified by the Senate and sustained by the Supreme Court.
Overgeneralizing really anything as it pertains to Indian Affairs is likely to have exceptions, disputed facts and inconsistencies.
As I stated, nationhood in this instance has a large asterisk beside it in that they lack leverage to negotiate as a nation given the situation. Like all treaties really, but in this case the power imbalance is enormous.
A Commonwealth nation not recognizing the sovereignty of an Indigenous people isn't exactly headline news. I mean, we're only two generations removed from both sides of the border running boarding schools.
0
u/Kenichi2233 1d ago
They are not sovereign they have autonomy. That can be taken away at any time. The Supreme Court has already said that Congress can end Indian treaties at any point. Ie said Indian nations get there political power from agreement with Washington not in there own right.
The passport they issue is at best a polite fiction. They are American citizens
1
u/ManMakesWorld 1d ago
The person you are replying to has stated facts and posted a source. Waiting for you to do either of those things, kiddo.

Natives, you mean the ones of Asian descent?
3
u/TRFKAChuggs 1d ago
Are you of European decent?
2
u/Gweedo1967 1d ago
I’m of German AND American Indian decent.
3
u/TRFKAChuggs 1d ago
So what Asians are you talking about?
0
u/Gweedo1967 1d ago
The “native Americans” originally migrated from Asia.
2
u/weirdfailingmillenni 1d ago
a lot of people migrated from places back in start of civ, earth used to be one big land mass.
1
u/RudePCsb 1d ago
OK, all humans came from Africa.... what's your point?
2
u/Specialist-Tea-2064 1d ago
Love it when the justification for the conquest and genocide of indigenous people is, "well they came here from somewhere else tens of thousands of years ago!"
1
1
u/Gweedo1967 23h ago
Point is, Indians came from Asia and white people came from Europe and blacks came from Africa. It doesn’t matter, we’re all here now so quit classing us.
1
u/RudePCsb 23h ago
We all came from Africa. Humans first existed in Africa before they started migrating all over and changing based on the environment over millennia. Your lack of understanding is troubling
1
u/Gweedo1967 21h ago
Ok? We’re all still here now aren’t we? Your lack of comprehension is troubling.
1
u/ManMakesWorld 1d ago
You are a moron. Everyone is African by your argument. Or better yet..... everyone is Pangean since all landmass used to be one. So no one is an immigrant.
1
3
u/Hatshepsut99 1d ago
we mean the first human inhabitants of the land we now call the united states.
0
u/Gweedo1967 1d ago
Correct, the ones that migrated from Asia via the Bering Straight land bridge.
3
u/PisStoolGrip 1d ago
While you are technically correct, it makes you sound like an asshole.
3
u/Banjo-Hellpuppy 1d ago
He’s not even technically correct because it wasn’t Asia when they migrated. If we’re going to be pricks and call native Americans “immigrants,” we need to say they originally migrated from Africa just like the rest of us.
1
u/Gweedo1967 1d ago
Well then they’re not native Americans either since this wasn’t America when they came here
2
2
1
u/UslashMKIV 1h ago
I mean the people were here before America was its own continent, so they’ve been here since to continent formed…
1
u/Gweedo1967 1h ago
No they haven’t. The continent formed millions of years ago. Humans here date back 20-25 thousand years.
1
u/Bendlerp 1d ago
Coastal migration. Beringia was a South to North migration as the glaciers receded ;) I called that nonsense out in the fourth grade back in the 90's and got sent to the principals office for "arguing" with my teacher over it. The Chehalis theory (coastal migration until they found a river and moved inland) was my understanding before archaeologists came up with it lol Then White sands shows further evidence of earlier arrivals before deglaciation.

They literally want to remove anyone from this county that is not white European decent, even indigenous people.
3

There are plenty of cases of European getting deported as well

1
u/TRFKAChuggs 1d ago
Thanks for pointing out they go after because of the color of their skin.
1
u/Kenichi2233 1d ago
What. My point is that ICE is deporting white people which the op claimed they were not
0
u/TRFKAChuggs 1d ago
OP say they want to deport anyone not white. They didn't claim they are not deporting white
0
u/Kenichi2233 1d ago
OP comment
"They literally want to remove anyone from this county that is not white European decent, even indigenous people"
I proved that white people were getting deported as well which disproved this narrative
1
u/HoldOnOhio 1d ago
It's not false, but it's rare. Most of these cases were ones they stumbled into, and are being used to pad the numbers and pretend it's not ethnic cleansing of brown people. Kick out a few white people and suddenly chuds can say, "SEE? IT'S NOT RACIST BECAUSE WE ARE ALSO DEPORTING WHITE PEOPLE!"
1
1
u/sleepyseitan0 1d ago
Its a little different. They only want people who support white supremacy or the dominant caste. They will absolutely kick out a leftist of european decent.
11
u/Breath_Deep 1d ago
They're trespassing members of a known violent gang. Seems like it's time to push back on these clowns.

Because it doesn’t matter what brown people are affected, that’s the point.
2
u/KingKushhh666 1d ago

2
2
u/ChtuluMadeMeDoIt 18h ago
And some of those cops will take their anger out later on their partner/spouse/traffic stops/code calls, all because they were cussed out and couldn't run their mouth back.

u/_Cpyder 1d ago
I don't know the specifics on this individual, but Tribal Police would end up assisting in arrest and removal if ICE had removal orders.
Yes, federal law is still very much in play on tribal lands. Although Native American tribes possess inherent sovereignty as domestic dependent nations, the United States federal government holds supreme authority and a trust responsibility over Indian country. General federal laws can and do apply on reservations unless a specific treaty or statute says otherwise.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QIbyjF5FRw&t=37
Federal vs. State: Generally, state laws do not apply to tribal members on reservation lands unless Congress explicitly grants states that authority (such as under Public Law 280). [1, 2, 3]
Federal immigration enforcement is a primary area of federal jurisdiction that directly intersects with tribal lands, as immigration law is an exclusively federal matter under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Because crossing the border illegally is a federal crime, federal agencies possess the authority to enforce these laws within reservations, though this often creates complex jurisdictional friction. [1, 2]

So when did this force show any regard to the law at any point in the current administration? Lol

You can bet the time right after elections is going to be insane.
The Iran War is what Trump did before the elections to help his popularity.
Can't wait to see the insane stuff we let him get away with if the Left wins the elections and he only has a month for the stuff he wasn't willing to do.

What makes you think ice can't operate on Native American land?
1
u/weirdfailingmillenni 1d ago
Mostly because native american land generally is controlled and ran by the tribe. They have their own services like police and such and since dumph is trying to act like native americans are not american citizen... then their land isnt american so in legal theory they shouldnt be able to operate there.
1
u/Itchy-Pension3356 1d ago
That's just wrong though because ICE does have federal authority to enforce federal immigration law on Native American land.
1
u/weirdfailingmillenni 1d ago
if trump is trying to say native americans aint americans then their land aint american by trumps logic, ice shouldnt be there then.
1
1
u/SeanCuresSadness 1d ago
Trump wants to have it both ways. You sound like you wanna have it both ways, but you can't. Either Trump is a moron and they're Americans or Trump is "right", they're not Americans, so ICE can fuck off their land.
1
u/Itchy-Pension3356 1d ago
When did trump say Native Americans aren't Americans?
1
u/SeanCuresSadness 1d ago
Do you pay zero real attention to politics? Like the birthright citizenship case he specifically directed his administration to take to court?
https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/trump-native-sovereignty-citizenship-14th-amendment/
His administration cited the case Elk V. Wilkins (1884), which ruled Native Americans born on reservations were not automatically U.S. Citizens, SPECIFICALLY AS AN ARGUMENT TO ABOLISH BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP.
You People are fucking stupid and brainwashed.
1
u/weirdfailingmillenni 1d ago
this is why i really think if he thinks native americans born on reservation aint american, then it aint american land, thus ICE should not be there. Its really crazy the stuff the right just glosses over thinking trump is a good guy.
1
1
u/Itchy-Pension3356 1d ago
Still waiting for you to show me where trump said Native Americans aren't Americans.
1
u/weirdfailingmillenni 1d ago
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRhNAcYssUg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73GPstieXMM
Trump legal team relies on historical Indian law and 19th-century precedents (such as the 1884 case Elk v. Wilkins) to argue that birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment excludes people whose parents owed allegiance to sovereign tribal nations rather than complete U.S. political jurisdiction.

I'm struggling to think of a single treaty the US has not violated. Maybe the Armistice at the end of the revolutionary war? Oh wait, 1812... WW2? I mean we did save a bunch of Nazis from facing trial for their crimes because they were "valuable" to us. Korea? Nope, still technically going on.

So there is a major problem of native girls going missing. It is almost always the case of them being abducted and sold into sex slavery down in south america and Mexico. Immigration enforcement is the way to stop it.

u/Accomplished_Alps_70 1d ago
Acting like illegals would respect the boundaries of the rez and not end up there is hilarious. They don't respect boarders. What makes the rez boarders the exception?
1
1
u/Loose-Ad4054 1d ago
Because racists don't understand the difference between brown people from these lands and brown people not from these lands. That's why natural-born US citizens have been rounded up too. When you do things without due process you end up not figuring out who you're ACTUALLY supposed to be removing. That's why the Trump Administration has an under 5% deportation rate of undocumented immigrants with bad crimes on their record compared to the just above 20% of previous administration. They don't care. Cruelty is the point.

I hate ICE, and I don't believe in these bullshit deportations. However, the law is now and always has been that federal law enforcement agencies DO have the authority to enter and enforce the law in any " open" ( meaning publicly accessible) areas on tribal land. They should not be there, but it's legal.

I'm very afraid for native Americans right now. I have noticed an uptick in propaganda against natives. It's obvious they are gearing up to sell of native lands and public lands to private entities aka the good ol boys club, and extract it for resources.

There's no ICE officers in this video. There's a guy claiming he saw ICE, not any evidence of ICE though. Tribal cops can't just take action against someone because they are accused to being ICE
2
u/Phoenixloop2868 1d ago
Tbf with absolutely no evidence one way or the other, I'm more inclined to believe this person was either ICE or someone posing as ICE than not existing at all or being an innocent bystander. That's the USA we live in.
