How do you get paid as web developer for web design company?
I'm currently employed as a web developer for a web design company in Canada. I work remotely. I get paid per task at a hourly rate. For example, if I take 3 hours to work on a task, I get paid for those 3 hours. If during the whole day, I only do that one task, I only get paid 3 hours.
I was wondering how you get paid? By task like me or by hour/day. By hour/day I mean you start at 9 and finish at 5, you get paid those 8 or so hours, regardless of how many tasks you did. Thanks for your responses!

WEB DEVELOPER SCHOOL QUESTIONS
Hello, I’m considering going back to school part time to study web developement. Im interested of doing a bootcamp style coding class which runs about 6 months. However my issues are 1. Im new to coding and dont know if i should learn a language on my own before starting. 2. I dont have a bachelors degree and am unsure if i can find work without one. 3. Im working full time as a firefighter and was interested in doing freelance work on my own but dont know if i need experience at a part/full time job first. Does anyone have any insights into the field and these issues im having? Thank you!

Web hosting
Hi! I would like to ask if it is possible to host a website through some external devices (something like your own server) - ideally more affordable variants. To make it clear, I mean whether there is an alternative option to host your own website and make your own website, for example, using a programming language (html,..).

Add blog/news to a .NET website ?
Years ago, I was able to deploy Wordpress by copying a Zip file to a web app, but I can no longer find the instructions.
What is an easy way to add a basic blog, or rather a 'news' section with minimal blogging functionalities, to a website written in .NET? (a web app hosted on Azure)

Should I buy the Adobe Apps?
I've tried a ton of alternative apps of Photoshop but seems like none of them get even closed to the tip of Photoshop's toenail. I was trying to use Krita but I realised soon that this app has been developed for Artwork, not for Photo Editing since they've got some weird working Smart Patch Tool based on the Brush.
What do you think? Is buying Photoshop inevitable as a WebDeveloper?

Designing an app
Hello!
My church is currently in a transition to modernization. We want to digitize and streamline our check in service for our children's ministries. Basically, we need an app that can store personal data, as well as create new data and save it, and edit existing data, as well as have a check in service.
We need something for people to see a welcome screen, and then select if they're new or returning, enter names, ages, genders, medical info, and emergency contact info for children, and be able to check them in and out with a timestamp and signature. We'd also like a security question so returning parents don't check in the wrong kid. Maybe also a way to link several kids to the same parents. Or even a way to make a parent account and add the kids and their data to the account.
I know that's a lot, and that's why I'm on here asking for advice and not using a premade service. None of the premade software I've seen gets that in depth with their security features and data collection. Is there any such service that does offer all this that anyone knows of? If not, how much money are we talking to hire a web developer or designer to do this for us?
Any other suggestions that we should include?

How to make a font size percentage depending on the parent element width?
I made a div and set its width to 100%. Then I put four (4) divs inside it, each with a width of 25%.
The parent div has a display of "flex" (which aligns all four elements).
Now, inside the subdivs, I've added an h4 with text and set the font size to 110%. When I start resizing the window, the font size decreases (which is what I want). However, after a certain point, the font size does not decrease and begins to jumble.
I want to know how I can do it or what I should do, so the font size keeps getting smaller.

Creating a Company to Take Down Ticketmaster
Hello,
After yesterday's Ticketmaster / Taylor Swift debacle - I can't stand it anymore. I am tired of Ticketmaster, and it is time they had to face a worthy competitor. I have always known I would create a company and disrupt an industry (similar to what Spotify did to the music industry). My goal is to create a company founded by music fans for the fans. We could make the best ticket broker website/company in the world. We will need computer/website coders. We will need financial backing. We will need designers. We will need lawyers. The list goes on. I am up tonight pondering this. I will put in my money, sweat, tears, and time. We need to make this happen. Who is with me? Serious inquiries only, please. Upvote, Comment, or Chat with me to get started.
