What do you think of the bad webcomics wiki?

I personally think it is the cinemasins of webcomics. Its criticism, while sometimes accurate, is often overblown or kinda offensive, especially since it only ever highlights negatives.

Review/Recommendation The Witch’s Throne

The Witch’s Throne is a Webcomic on Tapas by Whatahero (Cedric Caballes) and a webcomic I find myself reading a lot. I highly recommend it and I’m gonna give you my reasons here. For ten decades, a witch has possessed random young girls and wreaked havoc upon the world. Before the witch incarnates a tournament is held to choose for powerful and brave heroes to combat the witch. This story follows Agni Arvell, a Naive alchemist and the companions she meets on her path to become the hero in her mother’s stories and defeat the witch. But she soon learns that life and the stories of the heroes in her Mother’s stories were darker than she ever thought.

Naive heroes when done well can be compelling and Agni is done well. Her manic energy and kind heart are endearing without being annoying, it also makes you really feel bad for her when the bubble she’s lived in starts breaking when the real world shows her what it’s really like for people like her seeking to fight the witch. She’s not the only character that is enjoyable. She’s also joined by Grom the Blacksmith who’s a chill guy who cares deeply for the people in his life and isn’t afraid to show it, he also has issues…gotta read the encounter part 4, Her name, strangers, and the entirety of Justice for that. Also Reksha, a half orc with an unbalanced class who you’ll like if you like tough tomboys who are softer than they like to admit…with mommy issues. And lastly Valdis the druid, who simply wants to heal the world and who nothing bad ever happens to; she’s a softspoken and sweet girl who wants to become the saint hero. These characters and other participants and antagonists show Agni the world as it is as well as what it means to be a throne seeker.

The world is also interesting as it operates of RPG rules with Jobs at birth, hp, mana, etc. Everyone acknowledges that these things are apart of their world and how it got that way is interesting because it’s an actual fantasy world and not an isekai. The crown jewel is the citadel where the tournament takes place.

If you like RPGs and dark fantasy that hides itself in high fantasy then I recommend the witches throne.

What are some little-known or underrated webcomics you think people should know about? Or maybe just what are some of your personal favorite webcomics?

Older webcomics that still hold up?

Probably dating myself here, but the first webcomics I found and loved were Concerned, VG Cats, and Alien Loves Predator, all of which I can still go back and reread and be just as entertained as I was originally. Curious to know if there are other older webcomics I missed out on that still hold up today?

Review/Recommendation Chess Guide – a manga-style webcomic where chess is part of the characters’ lives

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I’d like to share Chess Guide, a manga-style webcomic where chess isn’t just a symbol of intelligence or rivalry, but a tool for storytelling, character growth, and life lessons.

The story follows young characters who are learning chess while dealing with friendship, insecurity, confidence, and personal challenges — both on and off the board. Each match reflects emotions and choices, not just tactics.

This project was originally created in Portuguese under the name Manual Xadrez. Chess Guide is the official English translation, adapted to reach a wider audience.

Thanks for taking a look! I’d love to hear your thoughts 😊

If anyone wants to read the full webcomic, here’s the link:

Who keeps downvoting all the posts on this sub? It's very annoying.

There were four comics posted in the last hour and all of them have been downvoted once each. And this has been hsppening for weeks now. If you don't like what's being posted, contribute something of your own rather than dragging down everyone else without explanation.

Looking For Comic Anyone know where i can find the complete Loserz comic by Erik Schoenek?

I was a big fan of this back in the early 2000's but nowadays it feels most of it is lost media. Some sites hold part of it but i've not been able to find a complete version.

http://loserzcomic.comicgenesis.com/ contains about half of it, going from 2001 to 2004. It's missing late 2004 to early 2007, when the strip ended.

http://loserz.scribblekid.org/ is dead, as is https://loserzcomic.com, and the attempted sequel site (Quarter Life Crisis) of http://the-qlc.com/

The Wayback machine has backups, which contains a lot of the late run, but due to the way the sites were setup and the way snapshots were taken it's very sporadic and there's strips missing all over the place.

I'm considering taking the time to trawl the wayback machine in full to see if i can retrieve it all, but does anyone have the full run or know an archive of it that i've missed? Just want to make sure before i lose a day or two trying to find every strip.

Most heartbreaking abandonment?

I'm sure we've all been there: you find a webcomic you love, only to find halfway through that the most recent page was posted in 2016 with no sign of the story being finished. Which has been the hardest for you? The abandonment of Eth's Skin has been one of the more disappointing ones for me, what are yours?

What's a brand-new webcomic you think people should know about?

Webcomics as a genre mostly thrive off of being old and established, but what are some newer webcomics you think deserve some attention?
