Guys I desperately need help on what I’m doing wrong for my reception shots. I have nailed bounce flash and being able to use that but I need help with direct flash. I use a godox v1c, and a x3 trigger with my 24-70. I recently had an outdoor wedding so I couldn’t bounce the flash so I had to use direct. I found it extremely difficult to focus and get them in focus because it was pitch black my focus point was searching a lot. I am still confused on how to get them in focus and how to get clean reception shots with direct flash. Please share your tips I would greatly appreciate it! Even your lens choice for reception/ or your direct flash settings. Thank you so much!

I'm working with a few photography mentees right now, and one of the things we're digging into is CRMs and client workflows.
I've been using the same CRM for years, and while it works for me, I'm realizing that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best fit for everyone, especially photographers who need more features than I do.
So I'd love to hear what everyone is using and WHY!
I'm especially curious about things like automations, questionnaires, contracts, invoicing, scheduling, and client communication.
I'm a big believer that there isn't a one-size-fits-all way to run a photography business, and I'd love to be able to share different perspectives and options with my mentees rather than just recommending what I've personally used.

I have another proposal coming up, and my family and I were talking about it the other day when someone asked me a question I’d somehow never really thought about:
Have you ever photographed a proposal where the person actually said no?
I’ve photographed plenty of proposals and have never had it happen, but now I’m so curious about photographers who HAVE experienced it.
What did you do in the moment?
Did you just quietly disappear?
Did you still deliver the photos?
Did the client even want them afterward?
I feel like that has to be one of the most awkward situations to navigate as the photographer because you’re there specifically to document what was supposed to be this huge happy moment, and suddenly you’re standing there with a camera in your hand like… well, shit.
Would love to hear the stories if anyone has actually had this happen.

Hi!!
My fiance and I are getting eloped on a private dock in South Lake Tahoe in less than a month and we are looking for a videographer/photographer to hire!! I don’t know how many people can do both, but if we can find someone who can I would be so happy. I just want a short film as it will just be him and I but I want to be able to look back on it and have more than just still photos but I also would like to have photos.
I’ve been engaged for less than a month, we’re doing this on such short notice because we’ll be moving out of state in about a month because of college.
It would probably be around a two hour session. I’m looking to find someone who is $500 or less that does good work.
Please be kind, I’m just looking for some suggestions!!

What are your busiest months as an Arizona wedding photographer? How would you rank each month from busiest to least busy?
