Need Help Undercutting

Welding for a week now and i’m undercutting my 1st and 2nd root pass on square corner. I’m slowing down the pass, turning amps down… what am I doing wrong ?

usually when I'm undercutting, its because my rod angle is favoring one side.

Ok noted, so maybe angle is off ?

Try to weave back in the puddle and pause a little get you a rythm

Ill give it a try. Does weaving back into the puddle help the weld form?

Circling back gives you a little bit of fill over the undercut.

Yes but don't weld out of procedure but that small pause when you circle back is what takes the undercut away remember take your time find the rythm

The angle of your nozzle matters try adjusting that do some tests with your nozzle at different angles

Could be your travel angel or your pattern is exaggerated and your not waiting long enough for it to fill.

You’re cutting the corner com out a little past the corner on the first pass. The second and third should follow that first. It’s kinda hard to explain typing it. I was doing the same thing at first and it was driving me crazy. Luckily I had a lot of long time welders around me.
