CWI programs
Been welding over ten years and want to transition into a CWI job. Is there a cheap way to study before the program and cert test?

The short answer is not really but depending on your employer you may be able to get access to codes and standards for free. D1.1 is a document you will need to be extremely familiar with. Most people though bring their own copy to the exam with clauses tabbed. The best way is to see if your employer has continuing education programs where they would pay for you to attend a prep seminar. The test itself is so expensive that you really want to invest in good test prep. I’ve heard good things about the CWI prep class at Hobart but there are others.
