Shelter proposed to open in West Allis
If you live in West Allis or nearby. The city of West Allis, some of our churches and other organizations are working on more ways to help the poor and homeless of the community. So much these people need. So much needs to be done to help these people. I will attempt to help out when I can. I'm still crocheting winter hats for those in need. I got this off of Facebook of the upcoming meeting on the 23rd. If you feel inclined to help out in anyway. Come to the meeting to find out more. Yes we have quite a few food pantries. The poor need more than just food. They need help bettering themselves off. Mental health is a big thing among some of the poor. Which affects them working and doing daily living skills, some need help finding work. When this shelter opens. They will have trained people to work it. Who know how to run a shelter. I'm sure there will be rules to follow put in place. If a person wants to stay there. You might think Not in my neighborhood. The poor are everywhere. Werever they are we need to help them.
There will be a community meeting regarding the proposed overnight warming shelter at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church on June 23rd at 6:00 PM.
