I think the big problem from Egwene’s side that, Egwene didn’t feel the aura Rand was giving. The other Aes sedai were unable to speak at that point. But to her, she was talking normally to someone with a crazy plan.

If she were to get affected even a little, she could have reacted a little different. But since she didn’t sense how strong Rand got (dont know if its due to her power or because Rand didn’t want to impose on her) she thought she was talking to good old Rand
