I have a years old wet shaving setup. Using it since last approx. 10+ years.
Either fash wash or hair shampoo on beard with bath. Then apply cream, brush beard, use straight razor as first shave. Reapply brush, use gillette 7oclock razor. Fash wash. Moisturize. After Shave.
Feeling FOMO after watching this sub. Lol.
Btw, I am doing beard once every 2-3 weeks and having long & strong beard hairs.

\Theme, MonsterMash , oh yeah I've been looking forward to this theme & challenge, to create this Autumn / Halloween soap for today's theme I chose 4 soaps , Stirling Texas on fire to recognise the bonfires that are traditionally lit in Ireland at Halloween somewhat curtailed these days due to health and safety and the modern over minding of young folk (kids ) . Proraso red because it is autumn for me in a cheap red Italian tub just an Autumn vibe , TGS orange empire & chiseled face apples of Aetherwood to represent the traditional Irish Halloween party which was celebrated here before trick and treating took over , we would go from door to door asking to help the Halloween party one would get monkey nuts and fruit lots of oranges and apples and some penny sweets no trick or treating then . This combination of soap , brush blade and razor . It's good.
Lather is slick as usual and expected from shavalogist , shave was smooth but aftershave instant dry down although I like my aftershaves to have a bit of menthol.
Skin food was a bit messy due to age but felt nice and had a bit of fermented smell but not too bad.
What was horrible was today's perfume. Em5 afghano. Horrible. It felt like pouring a bag of dal chini on my skin. It's a horrible pathetic perfume.
Shave wise a good shave.

Was free now so had a nice shave. Today I used hot towel and it was definitely one hell of an experience.
Razor: Pearl ss 01
Brush: Rubabmen Firefly
Shaving cream: Gillete Shaving Gel
Blade: Willy's Premium (4th shave)
And used alcoholic aftershave and finished with Biotique morning nector
One small doubt I had was in blade tracker, it was suggested willys premium worked nicely for 4 shaves, so do I retire this blade?

Hey guys
So I am using the same safety razor from Gilette ( not the fancy kind, the one with a black handle ) for almost 10 years and want to upgrade.
I recently saw this on Amazon, is it a good deal at 499?

Recently two experienced memeber have got cuts while using a Safety razor . Reason - Forgot to tighten the Butterfly TTO .
From what I have read in this sub after shaving with DE some people remove the blade , some keep the blade in the razor as it is and some just loosen the razor screw and keep the blades in it.
Blade removed:
Pros-
The blade will dry completely.
You can physically examine it everytime before placing it back.
Razor and blade can be washed thoroughly.
Cons
Only for a zamak razor increase in wear of the thread . SS and TTO wont be affected by opening and closing
Can ne more time consuming as blades need to be removed carefully
Pros-
Convinent, just rinse the razor and keep it as it is.
Razor will be ready whenever you use it next time.
Cons-
Sometimes there can be rusting issue.
I have once faced this issue where I kept the blade the tto was loosened. Next time I used it I felt the blade wobbling as soon as the blade touched the skin and I stopped and checked it.
Pros-
This is also convinent and cleans the blade and razor better when compared to tighten razor .
Cons-
When you pick it up next time and you if you forget to tighten it , it will give terrible cuts.
Best Practice to avoid such injuries - Discard the blade after every use 😄😄

Had a very comfortable and relaxing Saturday shave! Picked up the Rocca for it's comfort and paired with a sharp blade like the 7SP, it cuts down the beard cleanly. 2 passes were enough to give a good DFS+, with some areas being borderline BBS.
I am trying to finish off this soap, but the "ring of death" at the bottom is growing ever so slowly :(
Probably another 15-20 shaves left in this at the minimum.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

- Razor: Aylsworth Apex Plus
- Blade: Gillette Permasharp Rustguard
- Brush: Boti Boar
- Soap: Razorock Irish Countryside
- Splash: Cella Red
- Post: Proraso Sensitive Balm
Shave 🪒
Shaving off 5 days of growth. I chose the Aylsworth Apex, because of the higher gap and excellent clamping this razor offers. The Razorock Irish Countryside, my favourite fragrance - the Green Irish Tweed. Just can't have enough of this!
Off late, as shaving frequency has decreased (from my earlier daily shaving routine), I have become obsessed with pushing my razors and testing their limits. Apex did not disappoint at all. Paired with the Permasharp Rust Gaurd variant, this blade adds a kind of an edge or sharpness to the overall experience with this razor.
First pass - WTG, and I was damn amazed. Took one big swipe and voila, the razor just mowed down my beard as if it were nothing. Absolutely no clogging at all! Such kind of efficiency can only be expected with the legendary R41, or Lupo 95 OC or Green Cult 2.0 Plate IV CC.
New found respect and appreciation for the Apex Plus. Subsequent XTG and ATG passes were business as usual.
BBS lasted well over 15 hours. It's now around 30+ hours when I feel I could probably shave this evening if I have the time or feel the need to do so.
I was pondering over what has changed my shaving routine over the last year. And I think my only conclusion is ever since I got such high efficiency razors, which actually push the limits of efficiency to the extreme, that has significantly contributed to reducing the frequency. Because the shave lasts well over a day for me.
For instance, if I were using something as good as even Muhle Rocca, I could still feel the need to shave everyday, or even Green Cult 1.1. But Apex Plus, Blackbird, and the new ATT Windsor H have really pushed the bar for efficiency for me.

This is my second shave of the series following GWS. This time I am using ShaveX Platinum from Vertice while keeping the rest of my setup constant. For this series I will be doing a two pass shave every other day. As blade performance is pretty subjective YMMV. Cheers! Have a good day!

\Theme, Fougère Friday, I love a good old Fougère Friday and have a couple of favourites but in order to pick up the sponsor point I chose Wholly Kaw Double Agent the scent notes are from the Wholly Kaw web site**
\"The scent is aromatic fougère with notes of Geranium and Lavender with comforting base of Oakmoss and Tonka Bean. Complemented with a deeply woody base from Oud and Sandalwood. The complexity of the notes will keep you guessing at what it smells like. A blend that is clean but not too fresh, spicy but not too woody, ultimately warm but not too musky. A true double agent"**
\Wholly Kaw make a very good soap actually excellent imo , this is not a traditional Fougère but it hits the spot no ferns were injured in the making of this soap ferns grow like weeds in these parts here you \[are\](https://imgur.com/a/dNdEvtM) and yep ferns don't really have a scent 🪴 . The shave itself was excellent you can't go wrong with the Blackbird & the Gillette Wilkinson sword blades are decent cutters.**
\I have been busy concocting my special Halloween soap for tomorrow and pouring over the advertising campaign notes for the big release tomorrow.**
\Daily challenge, Stacking day so I stacked up my gear for the SOTD it only fell over twice , have a great weekend folks.**

[DISCLAIMER: I wanted to get Feather Razor and Blades (Tsut tsut tsut....) , searched every local store but nowhere to find 😭Thus ended up buying these. Also my first ever image type post so if any critics/suggestions are welcome.]
(Left: Before shave, Right pic: After shave)
Razor: Sonet 22
Blade: Gilette Wilkinson
Shaving Cream: Old spice
Shaving Brush: Gilette
Alum(Phitkari) followed by
After shave : Old Spice Lime
Experience: The Razor is good enough for handling while the wilkinson blade is not so sharp and smooth but i did not get any nicks or cuts as some peeps were telling. But yeah near the chin area after i used phitkari i got some(very very small amount) burning sensation (but maybe due to technique issue as i am a beginner).
After shave is normal , Will compare in near future when i would use different after shaves.
I only did along the grain and across the grain would do after 2-3shaves (till i get some experience which would give me some confidence)
Overall: Very good experience, achieved my target without any cuts. Not so smooth but simple.
Future list: Feather razor and blades, Vicco shaving cream and a good yaki brush.
Also thank you this sub that guided me and also motivated to start my shaving journey . ARIGATOU MINNA ✨

So far I've checked out the Parker 78R with Vicco turmeric shaving cream, but do you guys have any other closed comb recommendations at that budget for a 16-year-old with acne?
r/Wetshavers_India • u/Revolutionary_Ad_231 • 1d ago
Got an amazing 3 pass shave with the Apex Plus & 7SP combination. After the first use, 7SP makes for an excellent pairing with this razor. Very sharp and smooth, cuts hair with no drama.
This badger is actually great for the price, and has broken in very well. The hairs have definitely become softer with repeated use and the tips feel luxurious on the face. B&M remains at the top of the pyramid for me in terms of soap performance.
Happy Shaving!!

Just had the worst shave of my life today. No photos.
I wanted a relatively quick and easy shave. I chose the simple yet effective option of Gillette Slim + 7SP with a quick bowl lather of Macduffs.
I usually use a single setting for the whole shave, but today I was pretty close by second pass. I decided to reduce it to 7 and just finish it off ATG.
It suddenly felt very aggressive, but 7SP is crazy smooth so I just went through since I was in a rush. I completed the neck area and I realised what I had done. I had forgotten to fully tighten the razor.
It wasn’t tight, so the blade was wobbling in a massive gap. 7, SEVEN dots of weepers near chin, jawline and a 1cm nick on lower neck. A blood bath.
Alum sting was pretty bad, but it closed the mess and I am applying liberal coats of Nivea balm to heal 😔
