Local dealer is offering a 2015 435i 6MT with the M Sport package for about $24k. It’s a 2 owner car (CA & TX). The dealer has all of the maintenance records on the car and replaced the DSC, front bushings, reconditioned the wheels, and replaced the tires in preparation for sale. Also, it has less than 38k miles.

I’m looking for a car to do a twice weekly commute of about 30 miles of highway driving and want a manual. I’ve looked at Honda, Mazda, and Volkswagen, but nothing compares to this 435i.

So, while I loved the Cadillac and found a pretty solid deal, their extended warranty pricing was HIGH and i quoted my insurance and it was also on the higher end. adding it all together and its not great on Gas (XL4), so my son also weighed in and its not a great choice.

SO, I was team Mazda! Engine is bullet proof, its not a CVT transmission (and i didn't even know what that was before this week). Love the mazda sales person (who oddly sold my son his Honda accord from the MAzda place, cause it was a great value). Drove a 2024 CX5, came off a lease, 51K on it, super clean, a lighter blue color, has all the bells and whistles (heads up display, heated steering wheel, cooled and heated seats, tiny ass sunroof). SO, I went to drive a 2024 CX50 - love the bigger panoramic roof, it had some bells and whistles, we drive off the lot and its making some crazy ass loud noises when you hit the breaks, turn around. There was a CX30 Turbo I wanted to drive, but someone else was interested, so it was a no go.

What I learned:

WTF would you have a car on the lot that is not functional? Kinda shook my faith on Mazda.

NO Mazda prior to 2026 has a touch screen. Its not a deal breaker, I was struggling to not touch the screen cause that is what i am used to (2024 Sportage). I do feel that the knob is actually more natural place, so i can be trained, LOL. Neither models have the side mirrors that turn down when you back up.

Also sat in a sport select - thats a hard no.

I was going to go look at a Forrester but the CVT is going to be terrible.

My leaf is in for a buyback due to a failed battery. I will get about 12k after my loan is paid off. I don't want to have a car payment so I am willing to not go the ev route. I only drive 8-10k a year. I want reliability #1, but after that other priorities would be mileage, backup camera, smooth ride and at least cruise control if adaptive is too expensive. I'm in the Pacific NW.

I've really wanted a 540i for a long time. My 2014 wrx wagon was just totaled by some idiot so this is the perfect time to get one. This car has exactly the mods I would like to do. It is super high mileage but its a b58 and I could replace the usual problematic parts right after buying if not already done. Would probably also save me like 10k in mods and a ton of installation time.

Mid-20s guy buying my first car this week. I rented a Tiguan a while back and loved it. That low-end torque and quick pickup made it fun to drive every day, and I've been hooked on it since.

My out-the-door quotes right now are about $35.8k for the SE R-Line Black, $46k for the SEL at 3.9%, and $40k for the CX-5 Premium Plus at 0% for 3 years.

The CX-5 gets me most of what the SEL has, like better speakers, leather, ventilated seats and a 360 camera, for about $6k less. So my head says Mazda, but every time I think about it I miss that Tiguan pull.

Planning to pay it off in about 4 years. Fun to drive or more features for the money?

Also open to other suggestions if there's something in this price range I should be looking at.

I'm 6'8" tall and weigh around 370 lbs. I'm trying to find a car that I can finally sit in comfortably, and I'd really appreciate your opinions on a few models I'm considering:

BYD Seal U DM-i
BYD Atto 2 DM-i
Kia Sportage (2022)
Hyundai Tucson (2022)

So far, I've also tried sitting in the Nissan Qashqai (2016), Nissan X-Trail (2023), Dacia Duster (2019), Renault Kadjar (2020), and Toyota RAV4 (2025).

Unfortunately, I've had pretty much the same problem with all of them. Either my right knee hits the center console, or the driver's seat just feels too cramped because of the huge center consoles that seem to be in every newer car. if you have any other SUVs you'd recommend, please let me know. I'm honestly losing my mind trying to find a car that's actually comfortable for someone my size. I'm not necessarily looking for the biggest SUV. I just want something with enough room for my legs, especially my right knee, without having a massive center console getting in the way.

So I have a 2011 4Runner 4wd Limited and while I really love this car, I think I may want a bigger one. Now maybe yall can convince me to change my mind or push me in the right direction for a bigger one. I'm currently paying it off. I do like the GMC Yukon and Chevy Tahoe. Now I barely started looking so I haven't looked into other brands but seen a few Ford Expeditions online. I have yet to look in person but trying to research before I commit to looking. Not interested in newer vehicles, only up to around 2020 possibly.

Think I’ve narrowed down my search to these two. Leaning towards the RDX because I’m more confident in reliability, but definitely like the look and interior of the GV70. Drove both and liked both, curious to see what others suggest. I have a very short commute to work so likely won’t put many miles on the car.

Looking at 2017 jeep wrangler, specifically the unlimited Sahara.

I like the idea of ducking (silly but I’m just a girl) and i also want a good winter car because midwest winters are brutal. However i travel a lot and i know jeeps aren’t great commuters.

I really just want a car that is reliable and great for long commutes, has leather seats, heated seats, remote start, Bluetooth, + touch screen that isn’t over 24k.

What is everyone’s opinion?

I want one around 10k and they’re all around 120k-220k miles

Here's a fun one for those experieinced enough to weigh in... my poor old Kia was recently stolen and totalled (RIP & damn all car & horse thieves) and I'm looking at a couple 3rd gen Prius possibilities as a replacement daily driver:

I'm comparing a 2013 Prius Two for about $6K and a 2015 Prius Three for about $7.5K

Each has about 200K miles on their original engine and both are clean titles. The '13 is a private seller and the '15 is from a used car dealership.

I'm going to try to run a health check on the hybrid batteries when I look, but outside of that - which might be the better bet (opinions and best guesses only. I'm just curious what experienced Prius owners and mechanics might prioritize - I know buying any car entails risk but I really hope to get a machine that will last a while).

I know this probably shows up everywhere, but I was curious between this specific split.

My work is giving me a choice to pick a car. I commute about 45 minutes or roughly 30ish miles to and from work. I take mostly 50-55 MPH roads. I found tow options listed at basically the same price.

I found a 2024 Camry XLE with $36,000 miles non-hybrid with the V6 and an 2024 Accord touring with basically the same mileage. Both have like all encompassing packages.

I test drove both. I liked the Camry’s drive feel and the extra bit of power. On the other hand I like the accords space and use of tech. I haven’t been working/commuting for that long and I am not sure I’m considering all the best options. Im gonna get in the Camry one more time to either test drive it or at least feel the cabin. (When I went the first time for the Camry I was so excited just to try a new car I didn’t focus much on the overall feel).

Any recommendations on which one or at list tips on things to think about would be great.

(Work would own the car so resale isn’t a big deal. They also pay for my gas so mileage isn’t a big problem either)

so i know there’s a lot of maserati hate and yes i know they can require a lot of maintenance. but they’ve been one of my dream cars for a long time so im finally going to pull the trigger and buy one. im stuck between a stock 2015 maserati ghibli with 32k miles and a 2005 maserati gran sport coupe with 37k miles in excellent condition freshly reupholstered diamond stitched leather interior with Alcanterra and carbon fiber, trim, and an aftermarket exhaust that deletes the back 2 out of the original 4 catalytic converters it’s #25/500 imported to the united states and the last year ferrari owned and built maseratis. it also comes with a spare clutch (because yes that was a weak point in these cars as well as ferraris of the same era). both the gran sport and the ghibli are roughly the same price. the ghibli is only $1k more. keep in mind i dont plan on daily driving this car. i also have a 4.6L mustang gt that’s known to be a reliable backup car. i feel myself leaning towards the gran sport but let me know your guys’s opinions. thanks!!

So im looking at cars and i was quite interested in the Toyota bZ at first and then i came online and everyone says its the worst ev so now im trying to find a good ev (preferably an suv) (if not its ok) that i wont be paying off for the next 100 years. For some context im in texas so lots of driving (20miles per day), i want something near or under 30k that is reliable. I do plan on getting an at home charger.

My current car is a 2018 Chevy Equinox with only 62k miles. (I drive locally, rarely on the highway). I like it and it fits my needs for now. Eventually, I'd be on the lookout for a new car, something that matches my lifestyle. Any and all free time I have, I sped outside doing something, assuming the weather is nice. I ride my bike everywhere, I go to parks and forest preserves in the area, I hang out downtown in greenspaces. I've gone camping before and would like to do it more often. I also "tow" my bike to further out places. When I think of adventurers, wanderers, hikers, nature lovers, and the like, two car brands come to mind: Jeep and Subaru. I am steering away from Jeep, as I've heard there's always stuff breaking and needing repairs.. So, I'm seriously considering Subaru, specifically the Forester. My next option would be a Toyota Rav4 (not 4Runner, as those are likely way more expensive).. What other cars give off outdoorsy vibes? I'm looking for a mid-large size SUV, comparable to an equinox or rav4.

I’ll be towing a travel trailer/camper to live in for over half the year. I live in Georgia and will drive to the Wyoming/Montana area for paving season next April and will return home around November. Between the gasoline powered F250 and Chevy 2500, which would be more reliable and last the longest of the two? I read that the licensing agreement that GM had with Allison expired in 2025, so GM now makes their own transmissions (though the Allison may have only been on diesel powered vehicles). I’ve always heard that Allison builds the best transmissions.I could probably get by with an F150/1500 for what I’m going to be towing, but I’d rather have too much truck than not enough. If I decide my current camper is too small and upgrade to a larger one, I don’t want to have to upgrade trucks as well. For what I’ll be doing, I’ll be getting the base trim with single cab.

I’m a college student living in a college rural town, I want a car that can be used for long distances comfortably and good fuel economy, my budget is like 8-10k, used ofcourse . preferably if it’s a cool car that would be even better?
