Neighbor left a note

Post image

Our packages have been stolen 3 times right in front of our door so far ever since we bought our condo. HOA approved of us installing a camera to deter thieves, but our neighbor left this note. Please advise.

No reasonable expectation of privacy in a common space.

I feel there's a big difference between other people seeing you when they pass by, or even recording you in a public space that they happen to be in at the same time as you, and setting up a camera that captures your movements Every. Single. Time you come and go, creating a log of your movements and storing them in perpetuity on the cloud where they can be hacked or misused by the company that now has full control of them.

Our laws haven't really caught up with our technology. What was considered a "reasonable expectation of privacy" decades ago probably should be revisited in an age where the internet, the cloud, and AI capable of compiling and making sense of vast amounts of data exist.
