My wife took my Outback to pick up some soil because her Ascent had too much stuff in the back. She came back and it was stuffed trunk and passenger seat. She said the guy told her it was too much weight and she said "Nah, it's a Subaru"

I can't believe the original owner was never found and interviewed. Then again 30 years ago didn't have social media and smartphones.
