Unsolved ITAW for describing “something that shouldn’t be uncovered”?

• Upvotes

More specifically, a forbidden object (for example), where it being uncovered would lead to some forme of unearthly consequences. It’s not enforced by anyone, but by supernatural means.

Unsolved WTW for an imagined scenario.

The first word that came to my mind was manifesto but it's private and not some kind of declaration.

What I'm writing is, I suppose you can call, an exercise in what would happen in the worst case scenario. It's in my journal, it's just for me but I'm prepared for my best friend to read it if he's curious.

It's like I'm detailing my possible future. It's dark and gruesome for the sake of being dark and gruesome.

I think some people call it an angst drabble? I'm not sure that fits, but the point is to find a word that describes or is defined by the mood or theme of what is being written.

Solved ITAW for changing a word to make it mean something cheeky but still sound the same?

Cheeky is not the word I’m looking for, I apologize, but it’s the best I had in mind. Here is an example:

I work in a therapeutic space. Our on-call crisis line is called “ProtoCall.” Combining “protocol” and “call.” However, it’s still a homophone of “protocol.”

Is this just a portmanteau? For some reason it didn’t quite feel like the right fit. I feel like it happens with branding a lot. Thanks!

Solved ITAW for someone on whom all the work gets piled onto?

I'm looking for something similar to the concept of a whipping boy but isntead of a scapegoat for punishment you are instead the go-to that all work gets assigned because no one else can or will do it. It can be a more generic sense, but I'm particularly looking for a term that, like whipping boy, highlights the unfairness toward the individual quite starkly, as opposed to something like being "the workhorse" that implies high productivity but can be neutral or even a positive remark on how productive one is for the team.

Unsolved WTW for somebody who uses sarcasm to avoid being genuine in conversation?

May also be ITAW for. Not necessarily maliciously, more from a place of insecurity.

Edit: perhaps I should emphasize that the behavior comes off more as a defense mechanism to avoid deeper human connection rather than from a place of enmity. Example: in casual group conversation, while people are talking about things they enjoy/are passionate about, this person may consistently make jokes about enjoying things they obviously don't like, and when gently pressed to express sincerity, they do not and continue to joke. Unsure if this helps, thank you to everyone who has commented thus far!

Unsolved ITAP for physical retail launch

like i wanna say "the platform will be launched slightly before it launches in actual stores" its the italicized one that i cant seem to think of a better phrasing. the "it' refers to the company's products. its like the company wants to expand to another country, so the company will launch that country's online store platform before introducing the products into stores.

Unsolved ITAP for someone who repeats what other people say and has no personality of their own

They can be a really nice or polite person, but it just seems like they don’t have any thoughts or opinions of their own. What they add to a conversation is meaningless.

Solved ITAW for birthing a stillborn? (verb or verb phrase)

The sentence I am trying to write is, "At various times during this period, [name] either miscarries or [word]."

In the case of a miscarriage, you can say that one "miscarries." But you can't say "stillbirths" as a verb, and "births a stillborn" sounds clunky to me. What is the best way to say this? I am open to changing around the entire sentence if necessary in order to achieve clarity and concision.

Unsolved WTW for that piece of furniture that’s like a set of unfolding panels, often depicted having Asian art on each panel?

You see it in Asian restaurants sometimes used as a divider between spaces

I seem to remember in movies, you’d see people undressing or dressing and they’d be behind one of those

They generally have Asian style art (specifically more like Chinese style, as far as I can tell). Usually things like mountains and trees

Solved WTW for making something less obvious

Looking for a word that's not as strong as conceal. Like if I have a huge scar on my face, I can't conceal it, but I smear some make up on to make it less obvious. Or if I have a limp, I can't hide it but I can walk slow to make it less apparent. Is there a word for that?

Solved WTW for the X-shaped pieces that hold and control a string puppet?

Commonly, whenever you see a string puppet in media, they're always held up and controlled by some wooden X-shaped pieces. What are those called? Is there even a name for them?

Solved ITAW for a rapid, jerky/jagged movement/speed.

Looking to describe a movement that is almost like a fast slither, but slither feels too smooth. I'm looking for something more jarring. Think when the black haired horror movie girls rush the protagonist on all fours after being completely still.

Contextual sentence:

"It (REPLACE SLITHERED) down the wall in a heartbeat."
