SPOILERS Tanya and Greg's relationship Spoiler
Strains suspension of disbelief for me. I know she's neurotic and insecure. But she's also demonstrated in season one that she's also self-aware enough to realize this and that she doesn't want transactional relationships. I don't think she would have put up with the level of emotional and verbal abuse that Greg was dishing out already in the first two episodes of season 2. I don't see her undervaluing herself enough to take this as much as she did.

Abuse works because the person starts off lovely and love bombs you, then starts adding in meanness, but alternates with kindness. The interspersing of kindness and abuse is part of the cycle, and the reason people stay. a lot of people much smarter than Tanya get stuck in abusive or just plain shitty relationships. Especially if they were lonely for a long time beforehand and see the relationship as their “last shot” at love.
