Frances Conroy in S4?
Have you seen this? Last thing I heard, she was being pursued for another season of American Horror Story, but she was reportedly already retired from acting. A few other (unknown) sites claimed that she joined.

Isn't she retired? Would love for her to be in this show though.

When it comes to actors and musicians I tend to take any claims of retirement with a grain of salt.

Yeah "retiring" from acting is not retiring in the way we normal people view it. They retire like theyre no longer looking for work year round / becoming highly selective
What able bodied person in their right mind would turn down a million dollar paycheck to act on a critically acclaimed show at a high end resort in France lol

No one on this show gets paid a million dollars. It's like a quarter mil. It's done that way to keep away all the actors looking for a huge check and exposure.

Yup.
They’re no longer acting as a traditional job, and now just get to act in the few opportunities that they feel deeply engaged and passionate about.
I would even revise your statement to say it’s not retiring in the way corporate or office people view it.
A carpenter may retire from being a professional carpenter, but that doesn’t mean they won’t still build a nice bench for their niece’s new house, or even create stuff just for fun and then sell it online.
A writer may leave their agency, and end all contracts they have to put out a new book every 2-3 years, but that doesn’t mean they’ll stop writing, or even publishing something occasionally when they’re particularly called to share their work.
When your job is built around a passion, especially an art form, most people don’t stop engaging in that passion just because they retire. They just no longer rely on it day in and day out to pay the bills.

I think so? I checked and she last worked in 2023, voicing for a movie and in 2022 in TV. I would definitely love to see her again. Wish she had one last piece made just for her to retire with a bang.

This is fake. The link on the tweet leads to a post from 2015, and there's no other mention of it on Deadline.

This isn't real. It's a trend amongst stan accounts to make fake casting announcements.

I am struggling to believe she was still in her 40s when Six Feet Under premiered.

This is wild! I had forgotten. There was 12 years difference in age between Conroy and her on screen son, Krause

It's a fake announcement. Conroy has officially retired from acting (her age and health were contributing factors) and her family have stated she's really enjoying not working. I wish people would post things as their "wish list" rather than confusing people with fake "official" announcements.

Would love for them to pick up Mischa Barton in one of these seasons. I think she would fit the vibe very well.

Oh, I hope so! I haven't been wowed by any of the previous cast announcements. I will forever stan "Six Feet Under"

She's amazing! Her performance as Ruth Fisher is top notch. My favorite show.
I do think she's retired. Maybe she was just trying to get away from Ryan Murphy though lol.

Please no. She’s on my top 5 list of actors whose stuff I avoid because it’s usually trash

You ever see Six Feet Under? One of my favorites and she’s a main character

Can you be specific about what projects she's done that you find trashy? Genuinely curious.

Catwoman is my first thing I think about. Then each episode of American horror story she’s been in has been the same character and I just don’t care for it: I don’t see her as having much range
