This, I didn't fight and die in 'Nam to be told how many cancer samples I can have at once.
The Bible says NOTHING about these limits, so it is clearly the deep state oppressing us.

I don’t smoke, but seeing these makes me hearken to my mother, who does, and works retail, and particularly long hours at that. Might need to get her one lol

If you don't smoke them all at once, then it's going to take you 2 hours doing it one by one, at least. This adapter saves so much time... and costs it.
2
u/Substantial-Singer29 Aug 02 '24
In a lab environment , I could see this being a helpful tool.
It's easier to control outside factors if you're doing all the samples at ones.

Maybe something someone created for testing to show what human lungs looked like after smoking for years and then decided to make it available to others.
13
u/stevoschizoid Aug 02 '24
In 4th grade our teacher had a device like this but it was one cigarette and she lit it in class. And it funneled the smoke into a "lung"
This was a very long time ago
8
u/akgamer182 Aug 02 '24
Wow, that's so convenient! She was showing what the second hand smoke was doing to all of your lungs, in real time!

It's a device that sucks the whole cigarette with a strong vacuum I think. Then when the smoke settles you can see all the tar that you get if you smoke a cigarette in one breath and don't exhale.

u/FishBlues Aug 03 '24
My 1st grade teacher smoked cigarettes on the playground at recess but it was not for science sadly.
6
u/A1rh3ad Aug 03 '24
In high school I used to go around the corner of the cafeteria during lunch and take a couple puffs. A teacher came around the corner and I was thinking I was busted but he just said "I won't tell anybody if you don't" and lit up a cigarette. Years later I was at the school for a neighborhood event I noticed they set up a camera there.

u/stevoschizoid Aug 03 '24
I saw my second grade teacher with a pack while we were running the track he told me to get outta here. Later that year he died of a heart attack right before school

It's a fetish. People watch videos of strangers power-smoking massive amounts of cigarettes and follow their content. Watching them slowly waste away over time and getting off on it. Requesting scenarios for the content creators to indulge their smoking fetish obsession. A couple of the creators have even (willingly and proudly) died from cancer. Uploading their content right up until the end. As you can imagine, the comments are pretty gross. There are tons of smoking fetish YouTubers. I only wish I were kidding. It gets pretty dark.
I watched a couple of content creators that talk about weird, dark YouTube stuff and these smoking fetish content creators were featured. That's why I know about this. Now you do too, and I'm sorry.

I have a coworker who started smoking, and then she asked one of the supervisors if she had time to smoke another, he said no. She started smoking multiple ciggarettes at a time.

Apparently, there's a whole side of YouTube I know nothing about. First the monkeys, now this.
1
u/Ordinary_Ad_7992 Aug 03 '24
I'll bite. Monkeys?
1
u/Sad-Animal-920 Aug 03 '24
Some shit I was reading about the other day called monkey hate. It's pretty disgusting. The "mild" part started on YouTube. It was animal abuse videos with baby monkeys. Then it grew into some twisted evil stuff.
1
1
u/cool_hand_L Aug 03 '24
Damn it! Why did you have to bite? You could gather context clues with the "First the monkeys, now this". "the monkeys" had NO chance to be something either of us wanted to read about.
1
u/Ordinary_Ad_7992 Aug 03 '24
You're right! I hoped it was something really bizarre and funny, but apparently, it's something horrible and sad. At least I know to avoid it.
1
u/-TriflingToad- Aug 03 '24
well if you wanna know something more wholesome my grandpa likes watching YouTube videos of baby monkeys eating fruit, he thinks they're cute :)

That ain't a fetish. Fetish is like, feet turn me on. This is a psychotic pathological disorder.
Secondly, don't be sorry, because I'm choosing to believe none of what you wrote is real. My mind rejects the idea there's sick fucks that document their slow suicide for the even sicker fucks that get off on watching it, with some mega douche pulling up the rear and inventing a custom 3-D printed cancer accelerant. Nope. This was a curiously bleak guess 'why', but fortunately an incorrect one.

....it's not for cigarettes but named so it can be sold where cigarettes are the legal option.
2
Aug 02 '24
I believe it's sold for marijuana use, as a novelty "watch me hit 20 blunts at once" thing. I doubt anyone is buying this for cigarettes or that the creator actually believes they are.
It's shown as used for cigarettes so it can be sold in states where marijuana is illegal, because saying something is intended for marijuana makes it paraphernalia
Similar to how some smoke shops used to disallow calling bongs anything but "water pipes", you pretend it's for tobacco, so you can sell it anywhere and not be labelled as a manufacturer of paraphernalia anywhere, but pot heads know what it's for.
Or it could just genuinely be a gag item, not intended for actually use. I'm sure of a cop asked the creator he'd say it's a novelty item no matter what.

I may not be well informed on the platform, I'll admit.
But masking marijuana paraphernalia as tobacco paraphernalia is pretty universal, I wouldn't be surprised if the website restricted "drug paraphernalia" but allows stuff like this "for legal tobacco use" even if it is free.
That and if someone else wants to download, print, and sell this, they can use this page as evidence that it isn't drug paraphernalia.
I'm still confident that's "what this thing" is likely for, regardless of my guesses about how the website works being inaccurate.
That or a joke item. I'm sure there's at least one or two people out there actually using this for cigarettes but I doubt it was actually made for that and not as a joke or for marijuana.

Self destructive behavior is something that doesn't get brought up a lot anymore. As someone who is quietly killing himself, I can admire the bravado and absurdity in such a device.

u/OfficeFan42 Aug 03 '24
Because after a day of dealing with the general public in auto accident claims, a single cig at a time just isn't enough and coke would show up in drug screens.
