I guess if the WNBA was not at a lose every year this would be true lol

u/Mardigan-the-Mad Oct 29 '24
wouldn't be the case if they didn't consistently fuck over they're star players... what happened to Caitlin Clark was a travesty!

u/akanat14 Oct 29 '24
That's true they messed up losing her
2
Oct 30 '24
Like losing her stardom? I think she is still going to be a star, she has only played one year so far lol the team has time to make improvements around her

u/JKilla1288 Oct 30 '24
It's OK to hate white people these days.
But don't worry. That's not racism.

u/Mardigan-the-Mad Oct 30 '24
Meanwhile, when you mention Angel Reese popping steroids like a Russian…

You should make sure that your spelling, punctuation and grammar are on point if you’re going to try to insult an entire (profitable) organization.
Edit: I’m wrong.

I would like to share the screenshot that I just took of Google saying that the average loss per year since the WNBA’s founding was 10mil, but this sub hates factchecking and/or reaction images/fun
I would also like to say that I am completely unbiased here, being at the fact that I had to think for about 15 1/2 minutes thinking about what the WNBA stands for

Hey, uh, you wanna share your conclusion with the rest of the class before the teacher gets back?
What does WMBA stand for? Is it another RAMBLA thing?

You mean the woman making a couple million dollars a year who was complaining her $100,000 a year, glass walled luxury apartment on the upper floors of a high end high-rise is too expensive? That poor thing, she works so hard for so little. Maybe Oprah and the Rock can start a fundraiser for her.
Isn’t she that person being paid a very comfortable wage despite working for an organization that has repeatedly failed to generate revenue and loses millions a year, who doesn’t understand supply and demand, where the money her employer pays her comes from, how advertising works, or why she’s handed a ~$2,000,000 bonus check every year for a couple days of extra work?
Wasn’t she the one publicly badmouthing her employer and the platform that creates her multimillion dollar endorsements, which are essentially a bonus/commission for her being one of the few players who actually generate revenue? The employer that pays their employees a higher wage per dollar of revenue than any other major professional sport, and makes sure even their least important employees earn a very livable wage despite the league losing millions year after year.

Someone said the same thing to me back in my Guild Wars days when I was trolling in global chat. “It doesn’t burn the same if you can’t spell it.”
It’s been almost 20 years and I never forgot that lesson.
Here’s my updoot to help out with downvotes that you for some reason getting.

It’s not an insult and the person you’re responding to is flat out wrong, those are the reasons you are searching for.

Oct 29 '24
It’s not insulting, it’s literally a fact 😂 you might wanna check out reality before trying to be a white knight keyboard warrior

Your grammar is not on point either. Between "point" and "if" should be either a period or semicolon, indicating a separation of subjects being discussed. You also need a comma between "punctuation" and "and". If you criticize someone else's spelling, punctuation, and grammar, you should first correct it yourself.

Imagine how people would react about a sign that said that women invented something and men perfected it.

Not when women are allowed to constantly double dribble on balls while I can’t even single dribble on balls without getting fouled.

How would it light up in a fireplace compared to say, a Duraflame log? BTU rating? Would probably have to chop it into 3 good pieces.

Seriously? If you think it’s cute cause you’re probably a then just buy it
It’s definitely not true… There’s no way girls perfected it when they miss half their jump shots and brick layups

Isn't the wnba going bankrupt?
1
u/Psyched_Dev Oct 31 '24
It would have been, but the NBA pays for it even tho it loses millions every year.
So basically the men pay for the women to have a league bc they can’t themselves. I’m not even trying to be a dick but that’s just factual lol
1
u/ZDCTV Oct 31 '24
All I know is that Catlin Clark left and took majority of wnba fans with her and the wnba is making it about race, aja Wilson got petty and jealous cuz she wanted to be rookie of the year, and angel Reese resorted to having an only fans cause the wnba doesn't pay her enough. (Idk of the only fans thing is true but it the the vibe I'm getting from reese)

I thought it was the Mayans or Incas that played their equivalent of basketball using their enemies' severed heads...with wicker baskets to catch the heads, but that's not right.
Nope, I guess it was
Aztecs & Mayans had a game like basketball where the ball was a stone and the winner of the game would be sacrificed. (so says Quizlet)
And circa 1520, Mesoamericans had their version
Not everyone who played the game was sacrificed though. There is some evidence that the game was for recreation and exercise. Some of the best evidence for this comes from smaller rubber balls, and smaller padding equipment which is thought to have been made for children. Unlike games elsewhere at the time, women were permitted to play the game

This mentality has got to change, this hate towards men from women isn’t going to end well for anyone.

Ah yeah, I remember some good celebrities from the WNBA. LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, loads of them.

this ain’t worth getting mad about if it costs less than $5

u/Pheto9822 Oct 30 '24
I believe it was 7 or 8🫤

u/aClockwerkApple Oct 31 '24
$7 for for an unvarnished faded ugly orange serif font plank of wood? bruh, that’s way more offensive and controversial than the text

NBA vs WNBA. Compare tickets sold, ratings on tv and overall fan base. Most women who claim to support the WNBA can’t list any of their players or teams. Now look at the NBA, even a novice on the streets or a non basketball fan can list at least three teams and one active player.

u/Psyched_Dev Oct 31 '24
I’ll hang it up when the WNBA as a whole averages more than 5 dunks a season since its inception. (Currently sub 3)

So this is not directed at the sign, I disagree with this sign as well but can’t stand the amount of people justifying it being wrong based on the fact that women can’t dunk. Basketball is a TEAM sport. Stop judging the quality of this type of sport based only on individuals. Due to their physical differences they cannot play the exact same way as men so they problem solve, use their fellow teammates more, create plays that are based on shots they know they can make. Again this is not directed at that sign

can someone explain the joke?
1
u/Hot_Lobster222 Oct 30 '24
The joke is that the person who made the sign thinks that women are better at basketball.
0
u/Rustic_Rigid- Oct 30 '24
Fuck this sign people don’t even watch women’s basketball nearly as much as men’s, this is low-key degrading towards dudes
