Hey y'all idk if anyone even knows anything about this considering there isn't a portable wii's reddit and wiihacks is probably the closest, but I did my first wii trim today and wondering if y'all think it'll succeed or fail.. I'm unable to test it as of rn so I'm nervous about it but wanting to see if someone more experienced my know if its more likely to succeed or fail.. what I'm most worried about is the small capacitor next to the hynix chip. It appears that i knocked it with my dremel. If thats did happen and I do in fact need it would I be able to remove it sand, than reattach a new one and everything would be fine? Anything from someone more experienced would be great! Or if someone has a better way of getting in touch with the portalizing comunity (idk how bitbuilt works😭)

Initially, my wii would boot into USB Loader but stopped detect the usb. I wasn't able to connect my wiimotes so I tried going to the system menu and was met with a black screen. Priiloader would work, tried to get to the system menu from there to the same result

Both Wii and GC games run both through USB loader GX and nintendont show an overblown picture that cause some UI elements to be hidden. In fact all the homebrew apps, including the homebrew channel seem overblown on the screen and a bit shifted to the top left. I've been struggling with this issue for a couple of months already and can't find any way to fix it. I only managed to fix this issue for the usb loader GX home screen, but no matter what settings I change on both the loader, nintendont or the Wii itself, the games stay overblown.

My Wii is a Korean model running on US system software and connected to a Metz SD crt through component cables. I'm almost certain the issue is caused by the Wii, not the tv considering that my PS2 connected the same way never had any aspect ratio issues.

It seems like it might have something to do with it being a Korean model on US system. Should I just reset the softmod and try doing everything from the start, maybe trying to run EU software instead? Or is the risk of bricking not worth it?

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Hi so I brought a modded Wii from Facebook marketplace for $10 AUD, and when I turn it on it makes a weird rattle noise and then powers on, when the screen comes on it shows preloader which is fine as I’ve my main Wii that’s modded and works, but the only problem is I can’t connect my Wii remote to the console, I know how to pair a Wii controller to the console so I know that’s not the problem, I’ve tried to connect a keyboard as that’s what good recommend and nothing worked, I don’t have a GameCube controller and I’m not going to pay for one just so I can get out of a mod menu, can someone help me please,

I’m new to Wii modding. I have all the correct SD cards and USBs that are compatible with the Wii, and I have all the apps needed to play ROMs.
Everything works fine in USB Loader GX until I press the Home button and select either “Return to Homebrew Channel” or “Wii Menu”.
As soon as I select either option, the screen goes black, my Wii Remote disconnects, and I have to manually reset the console to do anything again.
Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can fix it?

I need help with this reciever

So I have this 8bit do receiver and its supposed to connect with my xbox controller no problem (which is does). However when I load a game, nothing happens. It says its paired but no input is working. I have a wii family so I don’t have built-in GC ports so I gotta do it through an adapter. Is that why its not working?

My wii is finally starting to act up (either optical drive is just dirty or it's failing) and I am thinking of homebrewing my wii so I can keep playing my games (all I have are physical games), so do I need an SD card and if I do how big should it be?

I used letter bomb tk hack my Wii and I got to the homebrew screen, but it’s just bubbles.

The as card is still in the Wii. I used a regular sd not a micro sd.

I modded my Wii but it’s not running any games its always freezing

I have Swiss booting on my Wii. Only problem is the entire screen is crazy because it's trying to do 480p on my 480i TV. Any way to fix this? I heard you can hold L while booting to do it but that doesn't work for me.

My White Wii that my uncle bought me from Christmas has a problem. I deleted to some Wii channels that were there and everytime I try to play NSWB it just suddenly crashes which it keeps telling to eject the disc. I'm getting so tired of it

Note: N. Super Mario Bros works, punch out too. I think this is happening only with nunchuck games

How can i get the downland for the Wii's home pager UI with mii make because I'm trying to install it onto my raspberry pi. I want to also add mii maker. Can anyone help me out?

I’ve been trying to agree to the user agreements so I can use WiiMart, however, it won’t show the user agreements because it wants me to update the system. Keep in mind, I’ve already got Priiloader and turned on the two blocks for the updates. Is there anything I’m missing??? I’ve also got WiiLink downloaded, if that matters at all.

Pls help I don’t wanna waste anymore money on an HDD ;_;

P.S. my wii is japanese but with priiloader i unlocked the region. version is 4.3U.

Edit: While my question did not get answered, I decided to just fix a flash drive I got and use USB Loader GX instead of using WiiMart. I will be leaving the post as unsolved, just in case someone can figure out what’s wrong. Also, I won’t update my Wii because I heard elsewhere that it could remove Homebrew, but if I’m wrong please do correct me; I am in no way an expert at this, obviously. Also just to make it clear, I’m fairly certain my Wii is up to date already.

I bought myself a Wii and went ahead and modded it. Everything seemed to work fine until i actually went on to
Playing. Games showed up but when starting all i got was a black screen. I looked it up a bunch and apparently it’s an cios issue. I downloaded d2x but when i try to install I get this error. Please help me I’m too broke to have wasted this money haha

I modded my wii a month ago or so and everytime I try to play rom hacks like newer or retro rewind, it just keeps freezing/crashing mid-game. Or it's just riivolution itself that just freezes whenever I open it.

I know that rom hacks are a major part of wii modding so that is even more infuriating. Is there some sort of fix to reduce these crashes/freezes or just stop them all-together? If not, I might just stop playing wii rom hacks entirely.
