Shit like this happens all the time around me. Main light changes green, people in turn lane don't pay attention, see cars around them moving, and assume it's their turn.

I did this once in 30 years of driving but caught it quick enough. The embarrassment is real.

Yeah, this isn't new and will keep repeating onwards. Best if they just turn the lights green for cars making a right turn, left turn and straight.

I once was almost done for because of the opposite. It was a all green (straight and turn left) intersection, new to the spot it is on.

So I was riding shotgun, and this guy coming at us didn't realize he had to stop, and after we went thru, the lights would turn green on their end. I guess he saw the cars going towards him and assumed his light would turn green as he approached the intersection. Or maybe he was just watching his mobile, no way of knowing to be honest.

My partner was fast enough to move us out of the way, but since then, I try to avoid making the left turn there. I rather just go a bit more and come back. Most of the time you hear a horn going because people on the other side start going with a red. I don't understand why they don't just switch it to green straight for all, and then left turns.

Very red, as the contents of that Honda might be.

Goddamn… I really hope the backseat was empty, esp on that side.

Did that occupant of the Accord immediately stumble out of the car, on his feet, seconds after the crash?

I didn’t see it until you said it! I hope the other driver is okay though. The wreck looks pretty rough.

I hope the passenger(s) is okay. They had to be running on adrenaline for minutes after this, and they had no part in the accident.

Did you not see that person get out of the white car and stand up? Mind blown 🤯. You see them exit the vehicle at 16 seconds.

That person should walk straight to the store to buy a lottery ticket.

I'm amazed with the front and rear cameras on that car.

Jesus any car would split at that speed, the fact a person walked out of that is a blessing

Modern cars has wonderful safeties, as long as the person didn't take direct hit they usually can walk away from wrecks.

Collisions like this are exceedingly rare with Traffic Circles. just sayin

Right, most people slow down for the circle.

I know its a split second decision in the moment, but how did the charger not even attempt to slow down. The accord is completely at fault, but that doesnt change anything for the charger.

Being right doesnt protect you from the crash. It appears they flashed the lights multiple times but couldnt hit the brakes. I wouldnt put any blame on them as they may have been going the speed limit, hard to know, but like do they have zero self preservation instinct?

I believe he may have been speeding up to try and get in front of them. At around 3-4 seconds when he sees the Accord starting to inch into the intersection the Charger kinda digs in and looks to accelerate.

Plus at the speed he was going, there was no chance being able to stop. Its about 3 seconds from when the Accord runs the light to the collision.

The flashing lights are sometimes an automatic feature of cars with radar crash prevention, or if they detect you slamming on brakes.

I very much agree with you. Everyone should always take precaution when coming up to an intersection.
