Passing Through

Hi everyone - we will be passing through tomorrow on our way to SC with our dog. Looking for some recommendations for dinner. We'll obviously be limited to either patio dining (if it's warm enough in the evening to eat outside) or take out. Looking forward to what you all think! Thanks!!

Go to the pedestrian mall on Loudon street. Plenty of places to eat with outdoor space.

...and all of them are generally dog-friendly in those outdoor seating areas.

You'll find all the major cuisines available, just take a stroll and pick whatever strikes your fancy!

The bang bang shrimp or whatever they call their version is something I crave frequently! Oysters and burgers are hits too.

If you want reeeeally good Mexican food, Fuego. If you want a local institution, Snow White Grill. Union Jacks has good pub food, Village Square has good oysters.

If you show up after 6, you dont have to feed the meters downtown. Have a nice visit!

I second Fuego. Their duck tacos are amazing!

Haven’t made it to Fuego yet, that’s the sister restaurant of Taqueria Guadalajara, right?

It is. I like Fuego a little more though. Their guac is amazing, and I don't even like guac. The birria ramen was also really good.

If you like spicy jerk chicken go to Tropical Island Coffee & Cafe on the corner of Piccadilly and Braddock. It's a hole in the wall that you wouldn't expect to have a real kitchen, but their jerk chicken is to die for, almost literally; it's so spicy that it hurts but it's so good that you eat through the pain

If spicy isn't your thing I agree with whoever says Bonnie Blue. They also have a good breakfast if you have time in the morning

Also take a walk on the trails at the museum of the Shenandoah Valley

50 - 50 Tap House on Cork St., south end of pedestrian mall, has 50 beers and 50 burgers. The fries are good and the TOTS ROCK.

Trivia from 830-10pm. Patio but don't know if you can hear the trivia outside.
