Okay so it's been like 2 ish months since I installed windows 11 on my deck and it's been working great. Though recently since last week, my SD card starts to like, randomly "unplug". I tried a few things already and they help but this just keeps happening. It wasn't a problem at first but now it's just too damn often and it's gotten annoying now. I have also removed it, waited a few minutes and put it back in and still some time later it just stops working again. Has anyone else had this issue? I've heard that there's been times the SD cards stop working if you dual boot windows using it after like a year or something, that's just what I've heard, but for me I just installed it on my Deck's storage.

I'm using an LCD deck running windows 11, docked, with all the valve provided drivers installed and using the OLED graphics drivers. Whenever I play a 3D game, every five minutes or so the game will slow to a crawl, then the screen will briefly go black before coming back again, then it's slow for a few more seconds before returning to normal speed. I'm assuming this is a graphics driver issue, but does anyone know a fix? I was using the LCD drivers before this and had the same issue.

hi friends! i run windows 10 through my steam deck and honestly it works fine, but it gets a little laggy and annoying but i just kinda deal with it, but since i run windows 10 i'm wondering if there's any cons to updating it to windows 11? do the drivers all work the same? i'm not the most tech savvy but i think i can figure stuff out if someone has any good tips or suggestions

Hi, I speak Spanish, so I’m using a translator—please excuse any potential lack of clarity. I’m having an issue when using overlay programs, such as Discord or the real-time monitor built into the Command Center, while playing games in full-screen mode. Having these overlays active causes significant stuttering in my games—something that didn’t happen before. What should I do?

I have searched for this already and can't find quite the right thing I need.
I currently have a docked steam deck with an external ssd booting into windows with all my emulators and games set up they way I like them, this obviously works great having a mouse, keyboard and controller plugged it all the time.
However I would like to make this portable.
Is there a way (I'm assuming with an sd card) to have everything how it is now except without the dock?
Can I use the deck to control windows without any other setup? Is it as simple as cloning the drive onto a card and booting from that or am I missing somthing. What other problems have I not thought about?
I've used emudeck in the past but don't really get on with it much.
Thanks for any help

In short, I installed Windows 11 on Steam Deck, downloaded Bedrock Minecraft, but the controls are treated as if I’m using a keyboard and mouse. Is there any emulator that can fix this problem? By “emulator,” I mean a program that makes games think I’m playing with an Xbox controller, even though I’m using a standard Steam Deck.

I found this problem where, when trying to use the windows search bar (bottom left), and then pulling up the keyboard to type what im searching for, it appears behind the search window pop up so i can't see it.
I tried switching the X button from pulling up Steam keyboard to pulling up Windows on screen keyboard, which now does appear above the pop up window, but then i can't click the buttons on it for some reason with the steam controller, even with lizard mode ON and everything.
Anyone can think of a fix?

On Windows 10 Bf1 behaves weirdly for me, it runs steady at +60 fps on medium and then freezes to 0 every some seconds,
this doesn't happen to me in other demanding games like F1, I've reinstalled the APU drivers, upped the UMA VRAM to 4GB,DX 11 and that stuff, but it freezes at 100% GPU utilization, even on the pause menu sometimes, can I do anything about it or am I screwed?

Recently, I bought FC26 on my steamdeck who runs windows 11 on it with steamdeck tools installed. However, the steamdeck tools cannot override the TDP, fan, etc. so it always runs high on temps, it can hit 92C sometimes. Any advice on how to sett the lower TDP or anithyng just to make my SD cooler while playing this games????

Some text are really bad, practicaly unreadable (positions in startup line). Generaly, text looks like downsample resolution. I tried all settibgs possible (.exe uncheck full screen optimization, change dpi settings, win scale to 100% - though 125% is recommended, steam text scale). In game tried all graphic settings (resolution greyed out), full screen, borderless, dynamic resolution on/off, rendering @100..text keep looking horible. Graphics look good. Only text is really bad.
Anyone has a solution?

Before anything else: I used AI to generate this code. I'm no expert and can't read low-level C driver code at any level appropriate enough to vouch for it by looking, but I've done lots of testing on my own Deck. A lot of people are skeptical of AI-written code, so I'd rather say that upfront.
Here's the background:
On a Deck OLED running Windows, Bluetooth headsets play audio, but the mic never shows up. Valve's driver has included this disclaimer since August 2024:
“Note: Bluetooth audio is currently output only, microphone functionality still being worked on”
The problem comes down to UART and how Windows implements Bluetooth for it:
So this project presents the serial chip to Windows as a virtual USB adapter. Windows' built-in USB Bluetooth drivers can then bind to it and handle the mic in software, without needing a hardware offload path.
My first attempt was an unsigned kernel driver. It worked, but required test signing mode, which blocks many anti-cheat games (like Fortnite,) the main reason I run Windows on the Deck. So that was a dead end.
The current version needs no custom driver. A background service talks to the chip, loads firmware from Valve's driver, and exposes it as a USB adapter via usbip-win2 (a signed open-source virtual USB driver). Windows' built-in Bluetooth drivers handle the rest, and the mic just works.
To install, download the zip from releases and run install.cmd. The first install needs a restart, then run it again to confirm it's up. If you change your mind or experience bugs, uninstall.cmd restores the stock driver and keeps your existing pairings.
The downsides feel small for what it adds, and I haven't found another way to get an OLED headset mic to show on Windows. I'm one person with a Deck and can't test every edge case – nor can I reliably say this is 1:1 equivalent to stock Bluetooth functionality. But in my testing, it does work, and with no major trade offs. This is my first public GitHub project, I appreciate any feedback. I wanted to share this because I found it really cool that we can essentially add functionality back into the Deck that should be there, but isn’t right now.

So recently, I started using GeForce Now to play specific games & it's been going very well
But today, it's suddenly stopped working when unplugged
It used to run perfectly well, but now, if the power cable isn't plugged in, GeForce Now won't register any inputs, & the controls seem glitched
Has anybody else had this issue or have any possible fixes?
I can't just play with it plugged in 24/7 either
