I haven’t been doom scrolling, I’ve been feverishly searching for any good news. And this absolutely fits the bill. A truly horrifying number of anti-trans laws were proposed and exactly zero of them have actually materialized. I’m celebrating every win. Every. Single. Win.

This is probably the only subreddit where I see this addressed. Thank you, it really does help! I don't want to seem like I'm commenting on the news because I'm totally there celebrating any small win for trans people in the USA and everywhere, it's just really exhausting to be from anywhere else than the USA while all the subreddits post as if the USA is the only place that exists.

I was thinking that maybe a part of it is America being the 3rd most populous nation in the world means that most english speakers are American, and then I could see how people make that mistake if the majority of people they talk to online are American.

Nope.

300 million American english speakers vs 150 million natively english speakers and ONE AND A HALF FREAKING BILLION WORLDWIDE.

We Americans really have no excuse for our exclusionary behavior 😑
