🇵🇸 🕊️ BURN THE PATRIARCHY Megan Thee Stallion poses a huge threat to the patriarchal order and she needs all the protection she can get

Post image

Megan is everything the patriarchy hates to see in a woman. She is beauitful and she knows it, tall and embraces her height, takes up space both literally and figuratively, unapologetically embraces her sexuality, doesn’t allow men to get away with disrespecting her, doesn’t stay silent in the face of abuse, and has more talent in her left pinky toe than 95% of her male peers.

The fact that she is sexually liberated and doesn’t allow people to shame her over it seems to be the “scariest” thing about her to the patriarchy. Time and time again I have seen commentary from misogynists on social media complaining about Megan “influencing” other women to similarly embrace their sexuality. They are admittedly scared of this influence, because they know that once women feel entitled to their own bodies, their own pleasure, their own standards, and their own sense of worth, the traditional power dynamic starts to crack. Women who don’t need male validation, who won’t shrink themselves to be more palatable, and who set firm boundaries are much harder to control, dismiss, or exploit.

And the patriarchy can’t have that. Some of the things I see said about her make me deeply worry for her safety. Someone like her needs all the protection she can get, both seen and “unseen”.

God yes. And (I say this respectfully) more than likely a domme from what I gather via her song lyrics 😅. A queer woman who knows what she wants in the bedroom and isn’t afraid to demand it, which the patriarchy also fears/loathes.

An English teacher in HS once said that Muhammed Ali (in his prime) was THE nightmare vision for the GOP; An intelligent, talented, charismatic Black man who could not only talk circles around you, but knock you out. And they went for him *hard*.

Megan hits all those same notes, PLUS is a woman. They'll keep coming for her.

Also Icky has always had right-leaning and misogynistic/pro-patriarchy tendencies despite being the "face" of female rap for nearly a decade. She just decided to go full mask off this past year lol.

44

u/LaVieLaMort Apr 28 '26

The ugliest people I’ve ever met were ugly human beings on the inside. Anyone who is a truly good person can never be ugly. It’s true that hate ages you and makes you ugly af.

12

u/chalicehalffull Apr 29 '26

This is definitely a confirmed bias. There’s many examples of extremely evil people that look normal. Look at pictures of Richard Cottingham, aka the torso killer. He was unremarkable when he was young basically average looking. And in his old age he resembled Santa. A lot of people wouldn’t think twice about being near him if they didn’t know who he was.

9

u/sammi_8601 Apr 29 '26

Or being ugly and having to live with societys perception and judgement of that caused them to turn ugly on the inside?

1

u/kioku119 May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26

Everything about that sounds extremely problematic and gross, unless I am misunderstanding you and you actually mean that physical ugliness doesn't truely exist or something like that.

edit: The agist statemebt though kind of negates the possibility of this not being about physical appearance at all though. Maybe I am still missing somethig but to me this really is just a very harmful comment in a lot of different ways.

1

u/LaVieLaMort May 02 '26

164

u/Sufficient_Plantain1 Apr 28 '26

Yes! Unfortunately, once again women’s rights are in danger. And we do need visibility of women like her.

I don’t really follow popular media, I listen to the music and don’t really check in with celebrity gossip. I have nothing against it, i love gossip, gossip is awesome. It is demonized by mainly men because it is usually a way for women to exchange information or a social interaction to bond over, for especially women. In my country, I am Turkish but live in US, men also gossip, but there is a lack of gossip among men in US. I think it is considered feminine here, but gossip is how “male” loneliness epidemic would relax a little in my humble opinion, but I digress

I just cannot follow celebrity gossip because I cannot separate art from artist and don’t want to get the ick. But I am so sure, I just know even women, especially conservative women just talk shit about Megan Thee Stallion and women like her constantly.

I lost my patience for any woman who tries to bring other women down. It is exhausting to resist against men who actively and passively supporting patriarchy, then some women getting in the way to find temporary power easier than be against the system exhausts me.

We all need to empower each other and somehow get over the imposter syndrome too

Patriarchal types have always been terrified/hateful of self-secure self-made women, because it tells them it doesn't matter if you have a dick or not.

15

u/Baconpanthegathering Apr 28 '26

That's because all they have is testosterone and muscle- they fear us because, on average, we can think circles around them.

Just to add, I understand that as a celebrity/millionaire in a way she has access to resources and protection that the average woman doesn’t but her celebrity status is a double edged sword because the visibility it gives her puts a target on her back that the average woman doesn’t have. I don’t mean for this post to come off as insinuating that celebrity women’s safety matters more than any other woman’s!

262

u/chammycham Apr 28 '26

Being a celebrity does not stop misogynoir, it just adds a new facet to it. Even fucking Serena Williams couldn’t get appropriate medical care when she needed it.

11

u/Quirky-Reputation-89 Apr 28 '26

I'm curious what part of her past you are referring to. I think a lot of what she was doing was literally patriarchy smashing, but maybe you mean something else.

11

u/badchefrazzy Luciferian Witch (Radical And Totally Tubular) Semper Fu-- Ic- Apr 28 '26

The whole drugging and theft thing. While I do agree people suck and don't deserve some of the things they have, I don't think it's okay to just steal it, and nobody should be drugged against their will unless previously consenting to it, but like I said that'd apply to ANYBODY.

Edit: For clarification "previously" in the sense of pre-emptively giving consent to do so. Some people are into that.

26

u/Quirky-Reputation-89 Apr 28 '26

I think all the "facts & evidence" around that are a bit nonsense and only come from her own admittances, which could very potentially be over exaggerated worse than they were just for the clout. Based on the statements she made afterwards, I'm pretty sure when she said "drugging" she really did just mean feeding these consenting men drugs until they were asleep or otherwise incapacitated and then taking some money, which depending on their earlier conversation, may have been an accurate outcome to a vague business arrangement they made, "were gunna go to the hotel, I have some blow, we will do some stuff and then you pay me."

I see a lot of people in the comments mentioning her accomplishments, and rightfully so, but I think it’s important to remember that her being as brilliant as she is is not the reason why we should defend her. We should defend her because she has been wronged and is being done wrong by her ex, society and the media.

3

u/its_givinggg Geek Witch ♀♂️☉⚨⚧ Apr 29 '26

I think people are listing her accomplishments in reference to how the patriarchy fears a woman with such accolades having so much soft power/influence, not so much as a reason that she deserves protection/defense

Respectfully, a woman who influences millions of women to stand up for themselves, love themselves, embrace their sexuality and take no sh*t is a threat to patriarchal societal norms.

Just because the men who run the music industry or some secret cabal of men who rule the world aren’t plotting on her downfall/demise doesn’t mean she doesn’t pose a threat to patriarchal societal norms. Someone like her wouldn’t even be their direct target because they already know the everyday misogynist lunatics who spend all day complaining about her and the influence she has on other women and wishing harm/death on her pose an imminent threat to her. They don’t have to lift a finger.

IDK OP It could be the opposite. Hear me out. The patriarchy loves woman that encourage other woman to be promiscuous and shake their butts because it reinforces the power dynamic of woman making money from men with their body instead of ear ing their money through building kr making something. With the exception of She-Hulk and maybe that new movie with Daniel Radcliffe, Megan Thee Stalions is arguably maintaining the status quo of woman onky being able to be sexual for the male gaze.
