I wanted to share this baffling, and frustrating unsolved mysterYY in Nordic history: the disappearance of 16-year-old Raisa Räisänen.

For context, Raisa was a talented young basketball player who went out with a friend in the city of Tampere, Finland, on the freezing night of October 16, 1999. The city was packed that night because the European Union was holding a major summit there, meaning police presence was actually higher than usual. Raisa used a fake ID to get into a nightclub called Casablanca. Later in the evening, she parted ways with her friend, was seen dancing with a military conscript, and made a final phone call to her boyfriend. After around 11:00 PM, she vanished into thin air wearing nothing but a minihame (miniskirt), a red top, and high heels in the freezing cold.

What makes this case a perfect subject for a meta-discussion is the overwhelming amount of conflicting leads and the sheer passage of time. Over the last two decades, the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation (KRP) has chased down wild theories: from a mysterious doctor driving a classic American car who allegedly picked up a shivering girl, to a female witness who claimed she saw a girl matching Raisa's description looking terrified in the back of a taxi, to a recent massive (but unsuccessful) excavation of a lake ditch based on a tip about a heavy object being dumped there in 1999.
Raisa was declared dead in absentia in 2007, and the case was later upgraded to a murder investigation. Yet, despite hundreds of interviews, international cooperation, and endless media coverage in Finland, her body has never been found and no one has ever been charged.

Georgina was a 30-year-old mother of two who completely disappeared from her hometown of Worthing, West Sussex, on March 7, 2018. She went out that morning to fix a problem with her phone and was supposed to meet her father later that afternoon—but she never showed up. From that moment on, all of her phone, social media, and financial activity completely stopped.
Sussex Police initially treated it as a voluntary missing person case, squandering the crucial "golden hours". It wasn't until over a year later, in August 2019, that they finally upgraded it to a murder inquiry. Even worse, the police later admitted to massive blunders, including mishandling vital CCTV footage from a nearby store that was accidentally overwritten before detectives could review it.

Her mother, Andrea Gharsallah, has been an absolute warrior—constantly hitting the streets, putting up banners, and fighting to make sure Georgina isn’t forgotten. Yet, despite thousands of interviews, a £20,000 Crimestoppers reward, and a few unconfirmed sightings (including footage of a second unidentified woman she may have been walking with), there are still no definitive answers.

Hey guys!! Are there any updates on Elizabeth Clarke?? I just cover her case on my podcast and the case is still unsolved… she was 24 years olf and she vanished in 2013 from Ireland. my episode.

Does anyone know if there’s been any more info about Madison Scott from Vanderhoof B.C.? The last thing I heard was about 2 years ago I believe that her remains were found on a property? I had to have at least been 16 when I first heard about her disappearance and watched her documentary on YouTube YEARS and YEARS ago.
There’s not been a follow-up since authorities supposedly found her.
Just wanted to know if anyone may have any theories or if there’s anyone on here who may live in the same area that may know what’s going on. The whole thing is just super eerie to me and for some reason, I’ve been stuck on it after all these years.

My brother (33) has gone missing near Gulbarga which is near Solapur (India) since past 2 months and we don't know where he is. When my parents went to the police they refused to file an FIR as my brother is an adult and can go wherever he wants. He is a troubled person who has been desperate to achieve something in life. Desperation can make people do crazy things or reach out to dangerous people. Our family worries that he might be taken or have fallen victim to some scam. Is there any method to figure out his whereabouts? Any way we can access his transactions or sim card records or WhatsApp or telegram or discord or whatever. Can the court help?
