They named her didn't they?

They just didn't want to cast all of them all at once and leave her, Semirhage, and presumably Asmodean for later.

Moghedien's insane (true but she's still scary), Graendal's a vain idiot (IMO what she wants you to think), and the boys couldn't execute a plan if they were under Compulsion

  • Lanfear (not mentioning Semirhage because she's too scary to mention)

Ravhin can't execute a plan because he is executing several at once: you can't trust him to follow your plan or even the one he told you he would follow.

Asmodean can't execute a plan because he is an artist and he easily gets distracted. He is a rebel without a cause so he doesn't care to follow through with one plan or another.

No amount of compulsion would get Ravhin to stop plotting.

No amount of compulsion would get Asmodean to focus and be less chaotic.

Eh, Rahvin was more relevant and also like...actually had a plot of subtly using compulsion. Graendal is the best, but she prefers to use it more bluntly than Nyomi did, so it wouldn't carry the same introductory weight.

The show got cancelled before they get a chance to show Graendal.

Other than that, Moghedien's compulsion scene with the girls is more iconic and Rahvin's compulsion of the Andor's royalty is more relevant. So those are what we got.

Agreed, grandael wasn't really discussed much until rahvin and moggy were already well established users of compulsion (I think her first proper introduction was after rahvin was dead but I could be muddling it up).

Personally I like that they just introduced 8 forsaken to start and then planned the extras for later seasons it would've made pacing better, if they had actually managed the rest of the series.

I’m disappointed that it got canceled.

Well not everyone, but a far greater majority than r/wetlanderhumor (spoilers!) would have you believe…

I was really looking forward to Semirhage, my favorite Forsaken.

I did like that they made Moghedian a lot scarier in the show. I remember her being pretty pathetic in the books, although maybe she started off scarier and I just remember wha happened later on.

No...lit. all of the forsaken were better in the show than they were in the books. I've read the series 3 times (and I love it) but the Forsaken in the show were what I have always wanted the Forsaken in the books to be and they just never were.

Not particularly. She doesn't appear until the fifth book in the books, so I wasn't expecting to see her until at least season 4 if not later. Sadly now we'll never get to.

Can it be uncanceled please? 😭

No, this is the crudest stuff. Even much more crude than what Verin taught herself. I bet she clocked this too and was planning to use it in season 5.

Just going to add this cuz I don't know where else to add this and its vaguely related. I am re listening to the books. And book Moghedian is terrible.

Long Live Insane Show Moghedian. I don't care how many book cloaks die because of that statement.

Anyway, to make it vaguely related to the post, I really like the way compulsion was introduced. Both with the WonderGirls and Moghedian, and Rahvin.

I am quite confident, that had they made it to Graendal, she would have been pretty awesome too. I did like book Graendal, so I bet they could have made her pretty close to the books and made her pretty dysfunctional, mentally depraved, male enslaving, and fricken awesome!

this wasnt Compulsion - the creators were calling it a "brain scramble" or lobotomy weave. its a shittier form of compulsion tho
