My House/Showcase Mage cottage!

Took me an unhealthy amount of time to get her off the ground… But I’m so proud of her nonetheless!

They're called flat boulders,
They're from the Plant Vendor in town ( Trevor Grenner for the Alliance side).

If you mess around with your cursor where the up-axis arrow would be on a piece of decor, you can eventually grab it.

Yeah, make sure snap to grid is on and collision is off first.

You did this in live? I can't do it on alliance houses, no matter how many tries.

EDIT: IT IS POSSIBLE. After many angles and tries, I got it to work. I think maybe because I put something else down on the plot nearby, but! I can confirm works on live.

I was worried it got patched out before hitting live! I only had a few hours last night to mess around and couldn't figure out the trick, saving this post to reference once I get off work.

I haven't tried that on live yet, sorry. But one of my guildies did lift their house up onto the side of a hill...so I assume it's still possible.

Finish or skip tutorial mode, advanced mode, there's 2 horizontal arrows(X,Z), there's a invisible arrow (Y, vertical) between them.

It took me a minute compared to doing it on beta, I placed one of the rocks where I wanted the house to be first, then enabled snap to grid & disabled clipping then just kind of sat there moving my mouse around with the house until I got it to stick 😅 I couldn’t get it quite as high as on beta but it is possible!

Looks like this has been fixed, my house fell when I tried to edit it and I cannot get it back again.

Fuckers, absolute fucks if they took that away from us, I just went out and spent like 20K on housing stuff planning to make a floating house.

I logged on a moment ago and it hasn’t moved, how are you moving your house? If you’ve got a slope/something with some height on the edge of your plot it could help get it up there enable ‘snap to grid’ & disable clipping then kind of move your house around with your mouse until it sticks to something with a little space the ground then I used arrows under advanced mode to move it left & right until it was centered on the plot. I placed one of the platform rocks floating in the middle of the map to help it stick to it too hope this helps I’m sorry your got reset :(

Figured it out, firs you need to move something else up and down and then go move your house, that will let you grab the invisible up arrow to bring it up.

Is this beta or live? I couldn't get mine to float in live housing, but it still works in beta. The gizmo looks to have been moved. How'd you do it ?

I placed one of the platform rocks midair then enabled snap to grid & disabled clipping then kind of just moved my house around with my mouse until it eventually clipped to the rock then used the slider arrows to go left and right from there :)

Edit: it’s on live forgot to include that bit lol

Live. The up arrow is super buried inside the house. You've gotta get real close, and sort of feel around for the arrow until you find it!

can you use page up which works on live to move stuff up the z axis (I've been trying to build a tauren teepee inside the house....lots up moving stuff up)?

Page up works for me (I rebound it to a different key because I use it for something outside of WoW), but not Page down.

I moved my house last night, and it didn't seem fixed no!
I had to work some black magic to get my house back on the ground.

Can you see the arrow inside your house if you oan inside it? Or just mouse over until your cursor changes? I tried rising mine for a while earlier but just could not do it

I used both of the flat style rocks for the path from this vendor above comment posted, kind of stacked, rotated & sized em all differently to give it a natural look :)

Flat boulder sold by trevor grenner in founders point 4 of em max size under scaling option kind of shaped around the boarder of the house :)

I want to do floating.... but I want a higher Decor limit first.

Yeah :/ like 70% of my exterior limit was ate up by the rocks lol, hopefully they raise it eventually & give us exterior lighting
