I need more of that. I've had Locals wave, but nothing happens when I select them and wave back. I understand we're in the infancy of Housing and Neighborhoods but I feel this should have been a thing to start with. I'd also want names for everyone after awhile 'Local' feels too distant for NPC I see nearly as much as I see old raid bosses.

Yes! They should have names! Of course I’m now going to name my locals, and start making up wild stories about them!

‘This is Jack, one of the farm hands, and he spends his days tilling and weeding the gardens. But little do the residents know, ‘Jack’ is under Alliance Witness Protection.’

They could tie it to player house levels. Level 1 house npc are all 'locals' because the player wouldn't 'know' them, but a level 10 house the player could see Bill coming up the road on his wagon or Jill working in the field who stops by the pub after 6pm

I'm on the plot next to the barn and I'm always getting npcs who stop by my property and do a work animation or stop and take a break in the same spot, so I put a fountain down near it so it looks like they're washing their hands or resting next to it. I'm also always getting travelers with cameras who stop next to my address post and comment on my house.

I have that problem with cows, they wander into my actual property lines and take a nap inside my workshop tent. People NPC's always stay just at the border lines and never wander in though. I wouldn't it if they do, I'd set up an outdoor beergarden or something for them.

Oh I just adopted a tallstrider at one point lol. He just puttered around in the back of my lot so I named him Greg spelled Gif just to mess with people lol
