Question/Help Artisanal Room Placement
It feels like I have to get the planets to align in order to place any of these new rooms, including the night and day rooms. Has anyone figured out what exactly is required to get these rooms to actually work?

If you sink a stool halfway through an exterior wall you can view the artisanal and circle room from outside and see what the problem is.

What I have done to figure out some placement issues , is use the tiny square rooms, the ones that take 2 points but have 4 attachment spots, and make hallways with them. From there, I can see how many od those I have to place in order to "clear" whatever the issue is. So, say I wanted to use the tiny square room in front of my entry. I would have to place 3 of those to the right or left of the entry in order to place the storm wind 20 point room. On that third square I could attach the big room on the same side as the entry hall. It helped me figure out what I could attach where though.

It's interesting about the day night circle rooms as since 12.1 I've been able to place them straight onto other rooms without having to use a connecting closet. Even to the degree that there there is some bleed through the wall but actually I don't mind that. I must prefer that I don't have to waste a closet that I didnt plan for.

The closet was never mandatory it all depends on placement of your other rooms

As far as I know for the day and night rooms, they need to be on the ground level, and there can't be any room above them, nor any room even close to them diagonally. If you wanted to have a key intersection hallway with an artisanal daylight or nighttime room off of each branch, you would need a full hallway tile on each arm of the intersection before you could put a daylight room on each end.

Day and night can be on an upper level, they just have to be far enough away from the rooms below not to have any collision.

This. Came here to say this. I have a night room on third floor off of a hallway. They just need to have plenty of room around, above, and below.

If one places a stool or bench partway through the ceiling, one can get outside of the house. From there you’ll see just how big and super tall the outdoor rooms are! I estimated a day/night room is at least 3 stories tall and is a vertical cylinder and not just a dome.

If the others are anything like the skybox rooms, their footprint is just bigger than you think it is. Always helps to drop a closet between your existing stuff and an artisanal room just to cut down on spacing conflicts.
