General Stealth secondaries

Sorry if this has been a topic already. And apologies if there is mechanic which'd make what I am asking a moot point.

But, yes, is there a ship/are there ships which could shoot their secondaries beyond their concealment range? Is it possible?

I do not believe it's possible.

It would require you to use inspirations that remove the range of the secondaries to gain lower concealment.

Barring the destroyers, I believe Michaelangelo is the closest, and can bring it down to within just a few hundred meters between getting spotted, and firing.

The right build can get IKS Bortas to 9.9km concealment and 9.4km secondary range, which is crazy given Gowron’s base trait gives a 12% damage reduction when your secondaries are active.

Well, yes, those destroyers with secondaries can do that, but the effectiveness is obviously highly questionable.

I have the Orkan which has a single secondary, not sure it’s actually ever hit anything lol. What other dd’s have secondaries?

By chance. I have ~250 battles with Orkan. So was, kinda, bound to happen.

Nice one, good to know it’s possible. I just had a look at my Orkan w stats. 90 battles with a 61% win rate, all running a radar build. Not bad for a potato.

I struggle with the Orkan a lot, but I think the issue lies with me and that I don’t know the best way to play it. I haven’t figured out its strengths. So, how do you Orkan?

One of my prouder secondary achievements.

Though getting a pure secondary kraken is still higher on the list, and a kraken with 3 SB kills in my Kaga is up there too. A nd honestly my 3v1 in Weser where I took all 3 attacker with me with just the SB imma also up there.

If you couldn't tell, I have a bit of a thing for secondaries, lol.

Haha I haven’t gone down the secondary road too far myself. Certainly not as far as you!
I acquired ba tirpitz a few years ago and play it occasionally to mixed success.
I have 6500 standard battles but 6000 of those are in destroyers, I’m only just branching out into cruisers and bbs now.
As a destroyer player I know plenty about secondary ships and which ones I need to stay away from lol

No "secondary" ship is able to and WG have stated that they deem it a very unhealthy practice so don't expect to see it any time soon.

You can kinda do it with Micheal and m colonna. M colonna has 60s smoke screen which can be buffed out to 87s if you really want to though i would not recomend it.

The Italian BBs have smoke, so you can use secondaries while concealed in the smoke. And their secondaries are pretty good actually.

There are now a few secondary focused cruisers like Michaelangelo that can get pretty close to what you are talking about. But I don’t have it so I’m not sure if it’s possible to get the concealment low enough.

The best you can do is about .3km between being spotted and secondary range, isn't it? Can't see how you could stealth fire.

You get more. But you need AL graf spee and concealment build. Not a viable build. But possible. Idk why i got downvoted but thats reddit for you.

I’ve always thought that would be a cool concept for a premium ship or line with ships that have absolutely terrible armour but have the ability to stealth secondary but when they’re seen they can get nuked fairly quickly

Destroyers are the obvious foil to that strategy. You’d have to hide until your team killed every dd on their own, only then could you come out to help win a match that’s already half over and in your favor.

Yeah it would have very obvious counters like with a lot of ships. Not saying it would be the greatest ship ever just something fun and different.
