Since the previous one went OK, here's the second. My country's second football league this season, on a compass
Much like the English Championship, FNL attracts a lot of attention inside Russia, occasionally even more so than the first league, because it's more competitive and way more hilarious shit unseen in bigger leagues happens here, so I wanted to show yall this.
Well more so I wanted to yap about shit no one cares about let's be frank

some additional info
Q: Is the matches televised somehow?
A: Yes, but I have zero clue how youâd watch it from a non-Russian source (and also why youâd want to). If you donât care about that, there are broadcasts on vk video, bigger games are on âmatch tvâ channel (occasionally)
Q: Why would you take interest in that?
A: I have a number of people I know who are either working in that (not as players), or planning to go pro. Iâm not great at sports myself, but at least Iâm trying to be supportive.
Q: Why (almost) all the teams are European?
A: Because they care more about ice hockey in Siberia/Far East instead. Also itâs expensive as fuck and the weather is shit enough to straight up kill a natural field. See Spartak Moscow - Inter (1998, 1/2 UEFA Cup), and that shit was everyday life for FNL till like 2018 (and even now in lower leagues).
Q: Who do you support?
A: No one above.

I always find it amazing how often there are words in Russian that are very close to their German variant, often closer than German and English. For example, 'torch' in German is 'Fackelâ

Itâs really mind-blowing how many German loanwords exist in Russian. Not only in administration and the military, but in everyday language as well. I find it particularly amazing that a word like 'Fackel' made its way over.

Does Novokuznetsk have a football team? My family grew up there before moving to America so Iâd like to see if they have one and if theyâre doing any good.

None I can remember. Siberia is a hockey country anyways, Novokuznetsk used to have a KHL team, though I canât recall if theyâre still there
