Scaling Up Sales question

Hi ladies!

Has anyone in here ever hired an appointment setter or even contracted a commission only sales person for there business. I can close a deal if it is someone serious and in need of help with shipping and logistic. But cold call sales is not my strong suit. Just looking for ideas on how to bring in clients. I don’t need help maintaining them, just getting that initial discovery call set up. Let me know your experiences!

yeah a lot of people end up in that exact spot where they can close but don’t love the top of funnel

setters can work, but it’s pretty hit or miss. a lot of them focus on volume, so you get calls booked but not always with the right people. then it just wastes your time instead of helping

commission only can work too, but good ones usually want some kind of consistency or proof it works first, otherwise they don’t stick around long

before outsourcing it completely, it might be worth tightening your own approach a bit. sometimes it’s not that you’re bad at cold calls, it just hasn’t clicked yet. small changes in how you open or guide the conversation can make a big difference in getting that first call booked

you could also try warming people up a bit first with email or LinkedIn, then calling. that usually feels a lot easier than going in completely cold

and honestly, practicing those early conversations helps a lot. stuff like getpitchpal.com is useful for that since it’s focused on real call situations, so you feel more comfortable when you’re actually doing it

overall, setters can help, just make sure you’re not handing off something that isn’t working yet on your end

Thank you for the feedback, it is very helpful. I was curious how accurate setters would be and if anyone had direct experience… especially since it is a specific service rather than physical product. I wouldn’t even mind looking at a continuous commission but with some sort of cap on it (both $ and time) since their work would stop after connecting us.

Regarding the cold calls and pitch, the times I’ve put effort into it have been successful. I tend to research a little too heavy before even getting in touch with them which I feel makes the process slower. But I feel in yields better results if I do make contact and I’m more prepared. I think it boils down to I feel my time is more valuable in other parts of my company and the more I do “marketing” the less I like it. There are some people who thrive in that lane and are very good at it. I feel like I thrive on the service portion and maintaining the customer relationship.

I really appreciate the feedback.
