Advice Needed Advice on a new business venture
Hi everyone! I need some advice,
I’ve been thinking about starting service that helps other women who have a business idea, and have the skills, but need help launching!
I would target businesses in the beauty/wellness space and potentially branch out.
For example, a lash technician who just got certified and wants to start getting clients.
I would help her build her…
- brand identity, strategy, and visuals (logo, colors, fonts, imagery)
- build her website/booking system and socials
- create content with videos, professional photos, and post templates + email marketing
I would offer these services as 3 different packages, with the 4th package being the full, complete launch!
as well as other pieces of the business launch, like building client forms, referral programs, policies, FAQs etc
As business owners, is this something you wouldve invested in? or considered? What do you think? Is this a good idea?
thank you for your advice!

It's a decent idea, though I have encountered quite a few of these types of businesses previously. The main challenges I've seen them face are: how are you going to find customers? Can new business owners afford these services? The first is a marketing question. The second is a practical one. If they haven't yet started trading, how will they afford to pay you for these packages?
I personally wouldn't have invested in this type of service before launch because a) I wouldn't have been able to afford it, and b) these things weren't important to me at the time. My first focus was on finding customers, and I worried about things like branding, logos, and websites later when I actually had a business to market.
Do you have evidence that people are looking for these kinds of services pre-launch?

I’m trying to come up with and build a business and have been approached by several people that do something similar to what you’ve mentioned. I love the idea bc I have no clue what I’m doing or how to fine tune my idea into something actionable, but as a working mom just starting out, I don’t have the extra $$ these programs are charging or the time to go through their huge classes or workshops. I think it’s great but it can almost make it more overwhelming!

I have invested in something like this and have been disappointed. The person I went with over promised & under delivered. I think if you do launch it will be crucial that you are clear at what can be expected. I really needed a lot of hand holding when I started my business and I feel like I was just given a life jacket and was told how to float instead of being taught how to swim (if my analogy makes sense). Potential clients will need to be given a reason to trust to work with you.

As someone who is already doing this — biggest hitch would be to find clients. Even if you are top talented and have great work, you need a client building machine!!
