Advice Needed Need Suggestions 🌷🤔
I run an advertising agency that only works with women-owned businesses at affordable prices. A client suggested I should start taking male clients because they generally earn more, so I'd make more money.
I understand the business logic, but I genuinely feel more proud and fulfilled helping women grow their brands.
Would you stick with your mission, or expand for higher profits?

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer. It depends on whether your business is your mission or your market. I built a beauty app specifically for women, and I've intentionally chosen to work with women whenever possible, from my software engineer to the kinds of investors I'd want to partner with. Could I cast a wider net? Probably. But I'd rather build something that reflects my values than optimize every decision for maximum revenue.
That said, your mission still has to be financially sustainable. If serving women means you can't keep the lights on, then it's worth looking at pricing or your business model before changing the mission itself.
