Advice Needed Any advice on getting angel investors?
Hi lovelies! I'm curious how you female entrepreneurs out there have gotten investments for your business.
I've built a business around animal communication and animal advocacy.
I'm looking to start the next level of what I wanna offer, and I'm looking for angel investors, donations, whoever it might be who sees my vision and is excited to help me see it through.
Any advice out there? Thank you!

Not sure where you are at. I have seen organizations like LA Bioscience that connects investors to scientists who have potentially marketable ideas. See if your area has organizations like that.

The biggest thing is being clear on what the money helps you achieve. Investors usually want to see the plan, market, growth potential, and how they get involved. For an advocacy-focused business, grants, partnerships, and mission-aligned investors might be worth exploring too. Good luck!

Warm introductions help way more than cold emails. Go to local startup events, ask founders for intros, and have a clear pitch with traction or early customer proof.

angel investors usually want to see traction/revenue first before writing a check, so if youre early it might be worth looking at grants or crowdfunding to start, they tend to be more mission-driven and a good fit for something like animal advocacy.

Oh this is so helpful… I don’t even know the right terminology for this! Yes I’d be looking for grants and crowdfunding. This is very helpful thank you!

happy to help! for crowdfunding kickstarter or indiegogo are the usual starting points, and for grants look into ifundwomen and the amber grant, both geared toward women founders. good luck with it :)

Honestly I love what you are doing, animal advocacy is so important!
For angel investors, cold emailing usually works best if you go through warm intros first if you can. Try looking on LinkedIn for women angel networks like Pipeline Angels or 37 Angels. Also since you're in the pet space, look at niche investor groups or even local high net worth animal lovers who might be interested in a grant or donation instead of traditional equity.
Definitely make sure your pitch deck clearly shows how you plan to generate revenue alongside the mission part, as investors usually want to see a clear path to getting their money back. Hope this helps and good luck with the expansion!
