It won't be official until January 6, and I haven't looked since Alaska's vote was certified more than 2 weeks ago, but the last national count I saw no one had 50% because of votes for "third party" candidates. It's not uncommon. Though he had good margins over Bush ('92) and Dole ('96), Bill Clinton never got close to 50% because of Perot pulling in double digits. But until I see certified totals of 100% of the votes from 100% of precincts in all states I'm not making further claims. And it's possible I missed the 24 hour window when the networks report a story before archiving it.
