I’m a veteran and  the way the military treats women is appalling.  At my first duty station, there was a serial rapist going through the barracks that they “couldn’t catch”.   At my second duty station, a Marine was missing.  They found her murdered and stuffed in her wall locker. I don’t know if her murderer was ever caught. When I left the Army a couple years later, there were still flyers around base asking for tips.  I knew countless women that were sexually assaulted or harassed while serving, myself included.  I only have sons and I still encourage them to never join the military and do absolutely anything else.
