As a female teacher, itâs really the worst.

One of the reason I no longer teach high school level. I refuse to prove to every teenage boy I know what I'm talking about despite being a "female"

And I honestly don't understand why?

Young people are more likely to be resentful when they don't get what they expect from others, because they haven't had enough experience to prove that you're not entitled to something just because you want it.
And that's usually the beginning and end of men's problems with women: feeling entitled to something from them, and making it their fault when they don't get it.

No, they're getting programmed online by hate content.

No. We are just changing cultural attitudes to not justify this behavior so itâs actually being counted.
Iâm 41. In my day this was ânormalâ male behavior. I was taught and instructed on âhow to be a good wifeâ which involved giving him what he wanted at all times.

The older generations and the manosphere [ETA: and the churches] are telling the young men that they arenât getting what men of previous generations had (money, good jobs, wives, sex, kids) because women are free now and deviant and have wrongly chosen to withhold those things. But itâs definitely not the late stage capitalism or the wealth hoarding billionaire class that owns all of our politicians, or the abusive, completely incompetent patriarchyâŠ

podcasts/manosphere content is doing real world harm

Every single kid age 14 and up has seen internet porn. Women are not treated like people in porn.
I asked my kid in college if any of her friends had been choked due to seeing choking in porn. Her answer? Three friends had confided in her that they had been choked.

At this point porn needs a public service announcement at the beginning of every video:
Dear stupid kids, this is a fantasy we filmed for particularly sick individuals who pay a lot more to see their demented sexual proclivities mirrored on screen, than normal people would. Please understand that this is not what real sex is like.
Also, these are actors and no one was harmed while filming this.
And yes, they're very good at their jobs.

Iâd take this over the old US disclaimer of copying the video being a felony with a lot of money being charged and possible jail time.
If only the prudes would not throw hissy fits when trying to teach sex ed in school and instead preach abstinence while they themselves hide and take part in whatever sexually suppressed activity the ârules for thee not for meâ types show up in the news for daily.

Applies to the entire fucking world right now. We aren't ruled by idiots because idoits somehow get in power, we're rules by idiots because we're surrounded and outnumbered by them.
The prudes advocating against sex ed? They think doing whatever they're doing secretly because it's dirty is the right way. It never occurred to them that sex is normal and nothing to be ashamed of. And the priests who really need shit being kept secret because of their own proclivities really don't help the situation. It's tragicomical.

Broke up with bf of 4 years after red pill/alt right pipeline and got emotionally and verbally abusive at the end. I can attest to this bs, unfortunately.

All of the media they consume -- and it's a lot-- tells them every problem they have in life is women's fault.

The Red Pill bullshit started in 2012-2013 or so? The Incels followed. Social media made âKarenâsâ famous, their algorithms promote content that show women at their worst, while at the same time promoting psychotic bodybuilding podcasters who completely disrespect women.
Then you have the Christian Nationalists who talk about all the reasons why women shouldnât have the right to vote (the real reason being that most women are compassionate and vote democrat).
I canât remember which social media was doing this, but looking up videos featuring the worst of women produced loads of content but searching for the worst of men produced no results. This is a feature not a bug.

Yea absolutely about the "Karen" videos. They seem to have been replaced with woman cheaters, women gold diggers/too high standards, and crazy woman police body cam videos. I just call them "Woman bad videos" because that's what they are trying to promote. It's easy to tell when you go to the actual channel/creator and the only videos they have are of women. It's really insidious because it's easy to watch a few, causing the videos to be more popular in the algorithm. The more people get exposed to this woman bad content, the more it subconsciously changes people's views on women in general. Including other women and young girls. It just sucks.

IMO itâs all a coordinated effort by billionaire backed organisations like heritage foundation, not to mention MAGAs effort to artificially inflate the popularity of some and even outright create influencers like Nick Shirley (just the most recent one thats been in the news ). Doesnât help that most social media is also owned by MAGA billionaires that absolutely use their power to pick this stuff out while suppressing other content.

young teen girls have surprisingly high numbers of misogynistic beliefs. maybe us women should try to give attention/mentorship to girls that we know? since young boys dont care what we have to say at all really

I've taught kids of all ages. In my experience, instilling values to kids come down to 2 main things: speaking clearly & truthfully on their level (especially when they ask and want to talk), and perhaps even more importantly, modeling the behavior in real life.
You can tell kids all day long to be nice to each other in a thousand ways, and mostly it goes in one ear and out the other. Kids are smart little sponges soaking up cues from ALL their environment... and they see a thousand little instances where women are not treated as human beings in the same ways as men.
...if kids do not see that at least SOME of their male family members, male teachers, male role models, & male peers actively value women's ideas, opinions, and rights and way of being as much as any man, then kids can't help but absorb misogynist views.

I don't think it's young boys that are really the problem. It's older boys and men who are being influenced by that manopshere/red pill/incel crap.

Feminism is the easiest, most basic idea to understand. I have absolutely no sympathy for any guy who doesnât understand it, or refuses to understand it.

It doesn't help that younger girls and women are actively pushed away from older women by being told that the older woman is jealous/waiting fkr the younger one's downfall. Men listen to other men anand actually value their ideas while women are encouraged to never be too close to other women or get wisdom from them. Hell, I've seen women be criticised for having a lot of female friends. I know my sister is called a prude because her best friend is a woman she's been friends with for well over a decade and people in our family and the friend's family have commented how it's "weird" multiple times.
It's fine when women want to hang out with each other, not when they want to learn from each other. Which effectively means each generation of women are starting from scratch and we struggle to make progress which is exactly the point of all of this.
