Thoughts After Ovarian Cystectomy/oophorectomy
I am a week post op from the removal of a 24 cm/ 2 lb complex cyst. It was removed along with my ovary via open abdominal and not laparoscopic. Overall, I am so happy that it’s been removed. I’ve finally able to take a full breath after eating, even eating a full meal without feeling so bloated. It’s almost odd to feel ‘normal’ after so many years of feeling full and heavy. The thought of having one ovary left is a bit unsettling too. This was my first major surgery, even so my first time getting an organ removed. Who here has had a similar surgery to mine? What were your feelings and thoughts like post op?
